Impossible to register second hand DD2.

I have recently purchased a DD2 from Racedepartment Marketplace and when I try to register it so that I can continue the warranty period (over 4 years remaining) I simply cannot, the option Add a product not purchased via store does not include DD2, The DD1 is there along with everything else. does anyone know if it has a unique ID, I tried my product code on the invoice (P WB DD2 EU) that does not work either.

The important line is this one "The guarantee is bound to the person of the first buyer (hereinafter: warrantee) and is not transferable."
The guarantee is not free, they are built into the price of the product.
So there’s no reason why they couldn’t honour a guarantee no matter who owns it as long as the appliance is still within the guarantee period. Especially if the (new) owner has the paperwork to show it is still within the guarantee period.
what purpose would this serve other than to screw over their customers.
It seems a user on reddit has managed to transfer the warranty.
If I cant claim the remainder of the 5 year warranty on my DD2 that is in pristine condition then it goes on ebay and ill become a customer of another company. i also have a CSL elite base, Pedals, Formula Rim, 918 Rim, Shifter I love this company's products and look after them as well as anyone so it would be really upsetting to not get the warranty as I attained it from the used market.
I had to deal with MSI when my 1080ti Broke, like the DD2 i purchased second hand I had no receipt only a serial number guess what they did...
replaced it! and actually apologised for the inconvenience you see they knew it was under warranty due to the serial number, that was amazing customer service so you best believe that I have a high regard for that company now and as well as recommend them (like i just did) I would defiantly consider buying new from them if my wallet allowed me too, customers who buy used can still positively help the brand.
so please fanatic can you allow me to register my DD2 and the remainder of the paid for warranty?
Transferring warranty has always been possible for any product, with the original invoice, so this is an unintended issue with the website. It's being looked into.
This is good to hear.
Why does the consumer guarantee page state the opposite- i.e. that the warranty is not transferable. Surely it should explain that as long as you have the invoice, the warranty IS transferable.
And when you are fixing that can you explain this line -
"The period for calculating the warranty period begins on the date of the invoice."
Surely warranty should start on the date of delivery - for most products this might only be a difference of a few days but for pre-orders it can be months!
I'll ask about the not-transferable warranty. I'm pretty sure it's referring to something else than what it's suggesting.
As for your second question: I'm only guessing here but I think that a) the date of delivery is not officially documented anywhere and b) in case of pre-orders the actual invoice date will be the date when the product becomes available and is shipped, it won't be the pre-order date.
It would be good to get official clarification on the warranty as this is confusing!
What you are describing is what every customer would hope for and expect. However the reality is that the owners product page does indeed use the purchase date (which is the pre-order date) as the start date for the warranty. Just checked this just now. Perhaps this can be fixed too if as you say, this should be the shipping date.
Can anyone clarify why it's a literal impossibility to register the DD2 on the website? every other product is possible.
Simply a website bug. Will be fixed.
Is the contradictory information on the warrantee information page another website bug?
More likely a legal thing, but basically I have no idea. I only know that the actual/current policy is that warranty is transferable.
I'm in a bit of a quandary because I can't register my product so I can't get support as you need to have a product registered, hmmm I wonder if an admin could contact me as I don't know where to go from here.
I got feedback from Fanatec that the warranty start date should always be the invoice date which should coincide with the shipment date. If the pre-oder date is used for this, then something went wrong in the webshop order process and should be taken up with the Fanatec Webshop.
Yes, I have taken this issue up with the webshop. They did nothing. To make things even worse the warranty period is wrong for my DD2 - the warranty is stated to be two years on the product page. Again, they sad they could not change this to the correct 5 years but told me not to worry about it. These should be simple things to fix. Not doing so makes the company look unprofessional. Simple things make a difference.
Hi, Can someone contact me, I cannot contact support because i cannot register my product, and I cannot register my product (DD2) because I cannot contact support. the website is broken.
It's being looked into.
Still the same, is there any other possible way I can register my device?
what if I attach my receipt here or PM you with it.
I can't help much with that, sorry. But I'll nudge Dominic again to find out what's the status/time line of this.
Please send an email to [email protected] and they should be able to help you.
I did that, I have been told that it's with the IT Team, any info or an update?
