PLEASE HELP - Hardware / FFB errors+issues (help me diagnose - CSW V2.5)

Hey guys, ive felt like there was something quite off about my ffb for a while now and i just cant figure out whats going on at all. its getting me really worried.

so with covid & the endless lockdowns & a serious list of mental health issues following a suicide attempt ive been stuck at home by myself for quite some time now, with sim racing being the only thing really that keeps me busy, entertained / motivated. Not to be a drama queen but I hope you can imagine this means a whole lot to me and im really desperate to figure it out :(

Wheelbase = Fanatec CSW V2.5 (pretty much brand new)

Wheel rim = Fanatec Clubsport F1 eSports (used a bit but still under warranty

Best way i could currently describe it, is there still being a lot of strength in the wheel/fbb and details like bumps in the road/kerbs. but i dont feel a sense of weight to the car at all, ESPECIALLY when the car oversteers/understeers i cant seem to feel what the car is doing at all. when it starts sliding during oversteer or when i understeer it just gets very light without being able to feel what the tires/car is doing. Even under braking/when i lock up it is similair.

The main thing that gives me the idea its some hardware issue is a FFB Error from the Fanatec Logs, this happens in multiple sims like ACC & iRacing:

**'' FW-FFB Error tracing for C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Assetto Corsa Competizione\AC2\Binaries\Win64\AC2-Win64-Shipping.exe

[START TRACE]

CFAWForceFeedback::DeviceID Failed! DIERR_DEVICENOTREG

[END TRACE]''**

Any advice on possible tests i could run to troubleshoot and get more info to diagnose whats going on? Such as the wheelcheck tool, logs from the sim/fanatec?

or simply things i could do/show to get across more clearly what feels wrong etc.

I will edit/update this post with more information and things i have tried as soon as i can

Have tried:

-Following all recommended settings in tuning menu and in the sims itself (+fiddling with some settings, didnt make a difference)

-Latest official drivers and firmware for all relevant hardware

-Downgrading to different, potentially more stable drivers/firmware (wheelbase, motor)

-With / without fanalab installed

-With / without IRFFB and vjoy

-Completely reinstalled all software/hardware from scratch

-Different USB ports

TL;DR = Something feels clearly wrong with the FFB over multiple sims, need suggestions on what to do / how to diagnose

  • Can you send a screenshot of the Tuning Menu settings?

    I watched your videos:

    • The part where it gets harder at the edges of the "turning limit" is normal.
    • Your pins and wheel looks normal. (Dunno with that metal coming off, haven't had mine for that long)
    • The start-up sequence is also normal.
  • I have the same issue. Just started yesterday any help would be much appreciated
