no centering force at all - software error ?

why is the wheel applying a centering force when not connected to the pc, but as soon as it is connected the wheel just has no FFB at all until a FFB game starts. i use the wheel for steering in non-FFB games like gta but there is no centering force anymore which makes it pretty useless as a wheel - these old rubbish wheel with springs in it were MUCH better for this case

Because that's the intended behaviour as it is the same as in a real car where the wheel also stays in position where you left it and doesnt return to center.

It's not designed to work the way you want.

  • ok, but why has this been changed and why does it behave the way i want when its not connected ? prior usb connection there is a pretty useful centering effect like in the older driver revisions.

Fanatec does a great job with specialised settings, but why take options for centering force out of the equation - even in FanaLab ?

It was not changed. It never worked the way you want it.

It has a center spring when no pc is on because it Doesnt have a USB connection then.

Hi Felix, it is working as designed, and to be honest I don't remember it having a spring, at least not for a long time. It is a feature that we would like to bring to FanaLab, so stay tuned :)
