Hi , the right way is never upgrade firmware base before motor , motor always first . i do this wrong and my QR stay on new firmware and motor to old and i cant do anything
I really appreciate the effort you took in guiding me in a direction Marcel. Unfortunately, none of these steps fixed the issue. I down graded FW and Drivers. Changed the Bios Setting to PCI Gen 3 and C-States disabled and this actually made the issue substantially worse with the freeze appearing almost every corner and an addition "buzzsaw effect" at moments.
I did also start that support ticket and took these actions as they advised.
On the hardware side, I can suggest you to detach the QR hub and reconnect the wheelbase main cable. In the DD manual, on page 14 and 15, you will find the steps showing how to perform the operation:
At this point I'm guessing I will have to be sent in for some kind of repair. Does Fanatec have a Loaner Program like most car mechanics? While you guys are fixing mine you send me one to use ;)
There is no loaner program, no.
Thank you, i couldnt get rid of the problem on the day, reboot and restart base did nothing to help but on the next day all was normal again...Weird but its fine now :)
Just recently updated to 447 after being all the way back on driver 381 lol. That one was working fine for me so I just never updated.
Are the recommended settings for DD1 still the same as they were way back with all the 300 series beta drivers? Or is there a link to
recommended settings? Was looking for ACC and iRacing just to compare to what I currently have had in my settings for years. Thanks!
Hi Maurice & Marcel, what are the chances that the CSL DD's firmware can be written to bump up 1 or 2 Nm to the wheel base. Seeing that the competitors are offering 9,10,11 wheel bases this should make the CSL DD more competitive on the market. Currently in ACC I am seeing clipping when using 70% in game FFB settings at high down force corners, an additional 1 to 2 Nm should be able to eliminate this.
That's because the update function is broken in 439.
Just download the driver and install it like every other Windows program.
And btw, please write in English according to the forum rules.
Hi Maurice, would you mind elaborate further on the answer? Is this because of the hardware/software limitations or purely a strategic business decision?
Hardware. Simply not possible.
Thank you for the clarification.
I have an issue with my new GT DD Pro where it goes completely unresponsive ~8 minutes after activating it on PS5, every time, irregardless of whether I'm even touching the wheel.
If I don't "log in" with the PS button the wheel can be activated whenever, but as soon as it's activated the countdown to 8 minutes starts. After the time is up it stops working in game. There's no "controller disconnected" message, the lights stay on, and the rev lights and LCD still work (in GT7, when playing with a controller), you can use the tuning menu to change profiles etc., but otherwise it's unresponsive to input.
Also tested with PS4, same thing there. I've tried reseating the shaft and the wheel, tightening the clamp, with and without pedals, grounding the wheelstand, different power sockets etc., no difference.
The wheel works just fine on PC.
I take it this is an issue with the PS authentication chip, since the 8 minute timer thing can also happen when trying to use unsupported controllers, headsets etc on PS5.
Seems like many other people have also had this problem, what was the fix? Was it a broken chip, software problem..?
There will be a fix coming in the next Firmware which should (hopefully) fix this issue.
That's very good to hear, the "hopefully" part is concerning tho because the wheel isn't usable in it's current state.
I have just bought a Podium F1 which i will be using on PS5, is this authentication disconnect issue present on this base as well under 447 or is it safe to update the device?
Already fixed in FW 188.8.131.52 included in driver 447.
So yes you should definitely update.
Ok, thank you Maurice!
I've just updated to 447 and now my CSW v2.5 is no longer detected (thus wheel no longer detected). Pedals still work.
Running CSW v2.5
Whee is CS Formula v2
Pedals driver is 1.35
Light comes on but nothing is detected in Fanalab or in 447 driver settings.
Struggling to find a solution.
First, your FanaLab also should be updated to 1.66 if you use driver 447.
Second, try a different USB port. IF that doesnt help, run the driver repair. If that doesnt help, uninstall the driver and re-install it - all with the base powered on.
thanks so much. 1.66 didn't seem to do it and switching usb didn't work until I did it three or four times. Thank again
No driver issues here and running this one since launch. I have however noticed recently that after a race there is a humming/whirring sound coming from my DD1.
The base is mounted to my Sim Lab P1 rig and it almost feels like the sound is travelling through the rig.
Anyone else encountered this or have any idea what it might be. Definitely wasn't there a month ago!
Assistance please. I recently upgraded my DD2, Podium wheel etc to 447. Then everything started to go wrong. At first Fanalab and Fanatech Control Panel wouldn't recognize the Podium Buttons. 10+ hours later after upgrading, downgrading, flashing firmware I now have nothing connected to the PC except for the DD2. I notice that it connects to the USB connector or the PC but then disconnects as soon as Fanatech Control Panel starts or the PC tries to load a driver. Then I need to go through a sequence to get it to reconnect to USB. Any ideas?
I have several problems in my Club Sport Steering Wheel formula V2 (podium advanced paddle upgrade) with the vibration, clutch paddles and analog joystick, in Iracing and running a DD2. Since I update to the last version.
My problem with the vibration is ocassionally, its keeps vibrating sometimes. I use the vibration only in RPM limiter. When I come to rev limit, it starts vibrating, as must be, but sometimes it keeps vibrating indefinitely and does not work properly again until I go to max REV again and "Reset" the vibration.
The Paddle clutch have a interference, even without using it, with my Heusinkveld clutch. It starts press clutch randomly and keep in that position, indefinitely. I had to unassignate the clutch paddle.
All my problems come when I upgraded to the last soft, FW and drivers, until that moment I havent any problem with my system; I run the lastest FW versions, drivers and software
It's a known issue of FanaLab that sometimes Rev Limiter Steering Wheel vibrations stay activated.
Still under investigation, no ETA for a fix yet (not with the next version).
In the meantime please dont use Rev Limiter Steering Wheel vibrations.
And the problem with the clutch levers? Is this also a known issue? Is there any solution for this?
THX a lot
Never heard of such an issue but I also dont have pedals from other brands so cant judge on this at all but for me this somehow sounds like EMI issues, not really like something a Firmware can cause
If the BIOS settings made the issue even worse, it might be a sign that the USB controller/mainboard might be the cause of the issue.
There is a high chance that the issue might not happen with the same base on a different PC and also a high chance of another base having the same issue on your PC if it is really caused by the PC hardware.
If it would be easy the base would have come with 10Nm instead of 8. You will need to wait for a DD in the ClubSport range to get more torque than the 8Nm.
I don't know of any base which got more powerful after launch, I guess all try to max it out before the release.
