Fanatec Pedals V3 do not brake properly

Hello,

my set: Fanatec Extreme with V3 pedals, PS5 and current driver package 463, Gran Turismo 7

Since yesterday I have had a problem with the brake pedal. When I brake hard at high speed, the car starts to brake briefly and then continues driving at full speed for 1 to 3 seconds. After that, the braking effect starts again. While the braking effect stops, the bar for the brake display in GT7 also goes all the way down. I have the impression that if I press the pedal too hard, the brakes fail, because if I apply a little less pressure, the braking occurs completely normally. It shouldn't really matter how hard I press the pedal and there shouldn't be any brake failure.

Which brake calibration is relevant when using the PS5,

the one in the Fanatec Control Panel or the one directly in GT7?

The driver package 463 has been installed for a good 2 weeks and until the day before yesterday everything worked perfectly.

Greetings from Essen, DE

  • Addendum: I have already replaced the cable from the pedals to the base, but that didn't make any difference.

  • If you look at Fanatec control panel and brake the same way does the brake signal bar do the same thing as you see in GT7? I

One thing to try is to turn on auto calibration for the pedals, then restart the base, hold each pedal at max pressure that you want for 2-3 secs. This sets the max value that GT7 will see. In GT7 check this on the calibration setting screen and adjust the max/min values - you may need to press OK w the max value set if the bar goes down again

Fanatec control panel sets max out to gt7, then in GT7 calibration sets how the game uses those values

Manual cal in Fanatec panel can confuse GT7 sometime

Also have seen toggling AUto cal in the control panel on/off can reset some brake related behavior

  • Hello Neil,

Thank you for the information. Unfortunately I can't test it until the week after next, but I will give you feedback then.
