CSL Elite Has No Force Feedback

Hello,

When I plug my CSL Elite into my computer there is no FFB after I turn my steering wheel on. I have to run the force feedback test multiple times until it decides to start working. However, if I turn the wheel base off again it once again has no force feedback. Does anyone have any idea why it does this or what I can do to resolve this it just started doing this but it really annoying.

Thanks

Hi there, We understand how frustrating it must be to experience intermittent force feedback with your CSL Elite. To troubleshoot this issue, we recommend the following:

    1. Check for Driver Updates: Ensure you have the latest drivers installed for your CSL Elite. You can download them from the Fanatec website. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause unexpected behavior.
    2. Verify Game Settings: Make sure your game settings are configured correctly for force feedback. Some games may require specific settings to enable FFB. Consult the game's manual or online forums for guidance.
    3. Test with Different Games: Try running different racing games to see if the issue persists. If it does, it's more likely a hardware problem. If it doesn't, the issue might be specific to a particular game.
    4. Restart Your Computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches or software conflicts.

If these steps don't resolve the issue, please reach out to our Fanatec support team. They can provide more specific troubleshooting advice or assist with potential hardware repairs. Best, your Fanatec team.

    1. I am running the latest firmware 464. When I updated to it that is when my problems started.
    2. It is not the game I was using I run ACC and Iracing and while I was driving it started by not working I played with some things then it started working. After awhile though the FFB stopped and the steering had no feel.
    3. Seems like more of a problem with start up.
    4. When I restart my computer and or the wheel the problem starts all over.

Hey Ian! We're really sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue with your CSL Elite. It sounds like something may be going on with the initial connection or calibration process after the firmware update. First, we’d recommend reinstalling the latest firmware to ensure the update was applied properly. You might also want to try resetting your wheel base settings in the Fanatec control panel to see if that helps.

If the problem persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver/software, as this can sometimes resolve issues after firmware updates. We’re here to help, so please reach out to our support team if it continues to be a problem! Best, your Fanatec team.

  • i had the same problem. i solved it by downgrading to driver 455 and immediately the force feedback started working again. seems to be a bug in the newest driver
