Driver 464

I've about had it! I'd like to go back to an earlier driver because ever since I tried to update to 464 last year I have had issues trying to get it to install. I'm tired of it! I know from reading the topics I need to go back and follow the directions precisely to uninstall 464 and put an earlier version on, I can't find these precise directions! You, Fanatec, WHERE ARE THEY?! It shouldn't be this difficult to keep this thing running properly! It works fine and then randomly decides it's going to install this crap drive and screw up my wheel baseS. After hours of trying to fix I get it working again but eventually it pops back up again. I'm not a pc genius, and I shouldn't have to be to keep this equipment running! Since can't pick the correct category of drivers and releases, I'll put it here. SERIOUSLY!

I have a lot of fanatec gear and have had three different bases. Over the years I have had issues in one way or another with every one of them. I now only use the DD+ and wheels as they are the most expensive to replace. Even newer products just are not fully functional and awaiting software updates. I guess it's early access hardware to go with my early access sims?
The gear i've replaced? Pedals, shifter, handbrake. All Simagic. The software for those has been fantastic and modern and all of it is in one application. Auto Updates, and all the functionality is in one application and easy to use.
While I have not committed to replacing my wheelbase, the software alone has me keeping an eye on alternative solutions.
However, there is supposed to be some new software released this year, and hopefully soon, that consolidates drivers and fanalabs functions which I hope is going to fix some of these issues that have gone on year after year. Some of the new support replies have made a few references to it lately, so I hope it's sooner than later?
My fingers are crossed. And that update will likely decide if I will stick with Fanatec or not. :(
But I agree. Managing the hardware is not user friendly. And replies to fixing the issues often come with the expectation of the user being more savvy than a user should need to be.
I have 2 bases myself. the DD pro and now the DD+. The original base, DD pro is in a box, locked out with this 464 error code. Now my new DD+ has the same error code. I really considered switching to Simagic before I bought the + but figured with the corsair joining the party it would hopefully be ok. So, as I sit waiting to get a response from Fanatec or more likely get banned for losing my patience on this forum, I am losing confidence in Fanatec aswell as Corsair. I will put my wife on this and hopefully she can get it back up and running but I think she's more frustrated than I am. At 56 years old, I shouldn't have to ask my wife to fix my game, ffs! Thanks for the reply btw. Have a great day!
Good afternoon!I can't install the driver via PC
Who knows how to fix it?
Being a long time Fanatec user so invested in the eco system, I’ve learned to deal w it. When they are working properly been very happy w the products. And yes its tricky to manage it. W the recent change of ownership and the dramas preceding they have a lot to recover from, and while logistics seems better I was hoping for more progress by now in the technical areas, some better insight into what’s coming is needed. Time for a 2025 update from them
@ruslan minkin - that seems like a windows issue especially as you say its affected both bases. Did you try using the WINDOWS control panel software uninstall feature first? Running the fanatec installer w/o doing that can fail
So best approach always:
1 - Windows uninstall all Fanatec stuff
2- REBOOT
3 - run the new installer and then reboot
Also always best to wait on any new driver release for others to try it and then read the comments. Yes the forum is hard to follow but read through all the comments - in between the rants there is useful advice
Unless you have some specific issue or need support for a new feature or product, stick w what’s working for you. for now is likely Driver pkg 455 and related FW
Just wanted to update. My wife DID actually get it up and running again, so all is good at the moment. I agree Reuben, some insight into what is coming and what is going on would be appreciated. It seems to me, that in this day and age that the suits could take a step back and figure out a plan and put it in action to address most of our needs in a week, if they put the right people on the jobs. It's a matter of priorities. I really like the Fanatec brand and hope for the best for Fanatec, but I shouldn't even be having this conversation, not now, not after the amount of time that has passed since Corsairs involvement.
