Formula Wheel stuck in Update Mode.

I just got a new Clubsport DD, started to do the whole firmware update cycle and when I got to the formula rim, the Firmware updater froze and eventually crashed.
Now the steering wheel is stuck in this update mode with the rumble motors vibrating all the time and I cannot access the tuning menu. When I first tried to update the firmware again, it wouldn't even recognize a wheel was attached to my base. After doing a firmware repair it would start with the firmware update again, but I get this message:
ERROR: Cannot Acquire Firmware Version.
FirmwareFlash Failed!
Please reboot wheel base and retry update
every retry it does the same thing.
My firmware version is 464.
I not cannot use my steering wheel at all anymore and it seems to be fully bricked??
Comments
Hold the power button for 10 seconds while plugged in. Reload drivers.
I'm not sure what I am doing wrong here but when I do that, the base just shuts off when I release the button. It does not go into bootloader mode.
update for anyone searching this on google and finding this page:
Still no solution. I have had contact with Fanatec and followed their instructions but the wheel stays bricked and has no functionality whatsoever. I would really think twice before updating the firmware on any wheel if I can give you any advice.
another update:
Fanatec has let me know that when the Formula V2 wheel gets stuck during update mode, it's not repairable and they offer no warranty on it or repairs so you can just toss it in the bin. Fantastic company.
I did the firmware update on my DD1, it appears to have failed to update, and will not respond to be put into bootloader. I surely hope Fanatec didn't brick my base with their update system?
Anyone have a work-around to get base into bootloader mode?
If this is a potential problem, there needs to be some SERIOUS warnings prior to updates.
I had a similar problem on a CSL DD with a F1 esports v2 wheel, which couldn't update, not connected for FCP...
Then I downloaded fanalab here, version 1.61.3
I launched it without the wheel connected to the base, and I connected it after
thanks to some magic powers it works, and FCP was able to recognize it
I still don't know how it's possible
hoping it can help you
(PS: sorry google translate)
Thanks for reply. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me.
I was able to get into Bootloader, but basically stuck in the CAL (calibration) and the full speed fan. The system still can't see the wheel. I wish I never decided to update anything.
*I have been involved in a hardware company product before, and I must say this a a complete disaster. How on earth was this allowed to happen?
Have a read of my two comments in the link to my previous post about how to get the DD1 back into service, you will need to find out your wheelbases motor/base Firmware versions to determine which driver you need to install to before using bootloader mode (Power on with button held for 10 seconds) when turning on the Wheelbase and re-flashing the older firmware so that they match the corresponding versions needed for both the Motor and Base:
