New CS Hub won't go into Xbox mode

I just got a second Universal Hub V2 for Xbox and it will not go into Xbox mode.

I've installed all the latest firmware from 4.64 and nothing I try will get Xbox mode. My other hub works just fine.

I'm using a CS DD with QR2.

  • Unfortunately it's a known issue. I have the DD+ and have a similar problem with the Formula v2.5 X and the latest wheel firmware, no X Box mode. From other threads, it seems this is a problem with the CS DD's base's firmware and will be fixed sometime in the months ahead. Odd thing is, if I revert the formula wheel firmware, the xbox mode starts working again, but the funky stick starts giving false clicks still making it nearly unusable. Here's hoping Fanatec and Corsair get these expensive devices working as advertised. Communication, even if not 100% positive is the best way to re-assure the customer base.

  • But I have one hub that works perfectly and another identical one that won't go into Xbox mode at all.

  • Do both wheels have the same firmware? From my experience with the formula v2.5X it would seem they sometimes use different internal hardware (funky switch) even in the same wheel revision that causes issues, I'm not sure if they can even tell the difference and offer different firmware versions.

  • Both have 464 installed.

It's as if it's a non-Xbox version in an Xbox box and with Xbox buttons.

  • Hmmm, does the label on the bottom of the hub show CS UHX V2?

464 is the overall driver package version, if you run Fanatec control panel, in the bottom left, it should list the firmware version of the hardware connected. For mine:

    Wheel Base: 2.3.0.1

    Steering Wheel: 2

    Wireless QR: 1.1.0.3

Both hubs have "CS UHX V2" on the label and both show the firmware version of the steering wheel to be 2 .

I show exactly the same numbers as you posted above with either hub attached.

Very puzzling. I started a ticket but I know that will take a while.

  • If you suspect that maybe compare the circuit boards.

I don't own any Xbox products however there is supposed to be a Xbox chip in the hub. PS products have a chip in the base.

I thought about that but I don't feel like taking both apart to compare. I guess I'll have to wait to see what tech support wants me to do.
