Fanatec Control Panel Access

Hey all! Getting used to my Fanatec setup and had something happen which I want to make sure is okay.

When opening the control panel, I had a message saying that the drivers could not be accessed, asking me to close all Fanatec software accessing the wheel, and grant access to the Fanatec driver through a browse box (it also mentioned something about a network file or something). I did this (with windows administrator), it installed itself and the control panel allowed me in and picked up all my gear.

Is this normal? I haven’t had this before as it was working previously, but I have folder restriction on windows defender and I am trying to understand if it is something to do with that?

Wish I had taken some screenshots as I can’t find anyone else referencing this online, keen to make sure I haven’t done something wrong!

thanks!

  • I had the same last week after changing the USB connection to a different USB port on the PC. I think it needs to re-register the hardware to the correct (new) USB port and the easiest way is to re-install the software drivers.
