    Fanatec Driver 400

    New Firmware Manager

Short video demonstrating the new Firmware Manager

    Changelog since driver version 381

    General

    • New Firmware Manager guiding the user through all firmware updates step by step including instructions and functions to calibrate wheel center, shifter and more. Driver property page now only has one update button which opens the Firmware manager.
    • Firmware Manager can save your Tuning Menu settings and restore them automatically after the update if you want to
    • New function to inform the user if a new steering wheel is attached which the currently installed base firmware doesn't know and can't support. If it is shown the user has to download the most recent driver from the steering wheels download page and update the firmware.
      • Pop-up message on the drivers property page
      • Wheels with 7-segment display will show a blinking "Upd"
      • Wheels with small OLED display will show "CAUTION Please update the Firmware!"
      • Bases or wheels with big OLED display will show "CAUTION Steering Wheel not supported! Please update the Firmware!"

    ClubSport Pedals V3

    • Improved smoothness of the load cell / brake pedal signal. Pedals need to be plugged in via USB for the firmware update. Never connect pedals via USB and RJ12 at the same time! In case you want to compare old and new or revert to the old one -> change Firmware Manager to manual update, open the Updater and then use the 3 dots to select version 1.30.

    Podium DD Wheel Base

    • [LIN] FFB Linearity Tuning Menu Setting now set to ON by default.

    CSL E Wheel Base 1.1

    • Fixed: Endstop on left/CCW side comes bit later than on the right/CW side

    Button Module Endurance

    • Now will show all pop-up messages like the Podium DD display. For example: Torque Key warning, shifter/center calibration instruction and more

    McLaren GT3

    • Fixed: Driver does not recognize initial State of 1-12-MPSs after restart if MPS Mode is set to PULSE

    Driver

    • Fixed missing motor firmware version for CSL E WB 1.1
    • Fixed pedal vibration buttons missing

    • Podium BME : v17 (NEW)

    Known Issues

    • After the driver installation or firmware update, it is possible that the wheel base is not shown in the device list anymore. If this is the case, launch the driver installation again and run the repair function.
    • Podium wheel base jolts can happen on ITM or analysis screens of the wheel base display. A workaround is to use the default screen with “Fanatec” logo while driving. Last year we could solve the jolts which happened also on the default screen, we will now work on the remaining jolts on the other analysis and ITM screens.
    • If the Podium DD is put into COMP mode for the first time after driver installation a restart might be needed so the property page can get opened without an error message as the DD is then detected as a new device.
    • BME on Xbox: Guide button acts as long press even when pressed briefly.

New driver 410 available for all products

    Changelog since driver 402

    Driver UI

    • New driver UI for CSL DD and Podium wheel bases. Will be rolled out for more wheel bases later. The old UI can still be accessed through the "USB-Gamecontroller" overview of windows.
    • Fixed Tuning Menu tab showing tool tip of APM setting even with no APM attached.
    • Correct wheel base is now displayed even when in Compatibility Mode.
    • Removed option to choose wheel base when Podium DD is in Comp V2.5 mode (no longer required due to improved detection).
    • Changed Tuning Menu setting LIN ON/OFF to FFS LIN/PEAK (Force Feedback Scaling).

    Firmware Manager

    • Fixed button at the end of shifter calibration being incorrect.
    • Fixed issue where updater would erase existing flash even when FW could not load correctly for flashing.
    • Option to save Tuning Menu settings during firmware update is now hidden instead of grayed out if base doesn't support this function.
    • Added text "No update required" for steering wheels that are not firmware-updatable.
    • Text correction for description of Podium DD motor sensor calibration.

    Firmware Overall

    • Fixed steering angle not being linear after a firmware update.
    • Fixed issue where a combination of Formula V2, H-pattern shifter, and second shifter could lead to an inverted shifter input.
    • While in BRF setting the LEDs now flash when 100% brake input is reached.

    CSL DD

    • Fixed constant vibration noise of the motor which could give a grainy feeling and be audible which results in a smoother feeling.
    • Fixed damper effect from games being rough and noisy, for example in AC when car is standing still.
    • The 'Damper' effect modifier (DPR) is now scaled differently and is able to be stronger. Depending on how a game uses this damper, it might feel too strong for some users, but this can be easily adjusted with the DPR setting in the Advanced Mode of the Tuning Menu.
    • Fixed BRF setting not being adjustable in single steps with D-Pad up/down.
    • Fixed BLI setting shown as "oFF" instead of "OFF".
    • Fixed wrong FFS setting values on 7-segment displays.
    • Improved rotation during boot up which is now smoother and less rapid.

    Podium DD

    • Renamed Tuning Menu setting LIN to FFS (Force Feedback Scaling). ON -> LIN and OFF -> Peak.

    Known Issues

    • When entering a game menu while driving it can happen in some games that the FFB effect doesn't get canceled which results in the wheel turning to one side. (this got now fixed for the Podium DD but can still happen on the CSL DD. We will now apply the fix for the CSL DD as well)
    • Natural friction can start to feel weird after some time of driving. In case you experience issues with NFR, we suggest to turn it OFF for now. (this got now fixed for the Podium DD but can still happen on the CSL DD. We will now apply the fix for the CSL DD as well)

We will now apply the fix for the CSL DD as well)
    • The steering input jump issue was greatly improved so the issue happens a lot less than before. Full fix expected for one of the next versions.
    • SEN AUTO stays 360 after closing F1 22 and does not reset to the default 1080. This can result in the wrong steering angle in another game launched afterwards. A new SDK to solve the issue was provided to all affected game developers in September 2022. We suggest to use SEN 360 for F1 and F2 cars and 900 for Supercars until F1 22 includes the new SDK.
    • Since a recent Windows 11 update the optional Tray Application (beta) is not visible anymore in the system tray even though running in the background. On Windows 10 and previous Windows 11 versions it's still shown correctly.

    Control Panel

    • Fixed UI freeze/crash with pedals connected and when going to the pedals page.
    • Fixed issue of incorrect steering angle shown (-1080°) when opening the driver with wheel turned completely to the left.
    • UI now shows current maximum torque in Nm depending on the FFB strength settings set in the Tuning Menu. On the Podium DD it's also dependent on the connected wheel and the torque key, therefore the torque value is only shown with a steering wheel connected.
    • Wheel Base page is now always shown for easier access to trouble shooting tips if needed which was more difficult to find when other devices were still connected.
    • Included additional hint info for Standard/Advanced Tuning Menu toggle to explain that Setup 1 will be reset when going back to Standard mode.
    • Increased the timer to show hint texts until mouse is moved away.
    • Other minor improvements.

    USB Adapter Handbrake Mode

    • Added manual min/max calibration for the handbrake connected to the USB Adapter. Firmware update of USB Adapter required.

    Tray App (optional installation)

Latest version of FanatecApp on Android/iOS required as well, more info about the app on: https://fanatec.com/eu-en/app

    • Fixed Tray App icon not shown in the Tray since Windows 11 "Moment 2" update.
    • Fixed several issues with the SEN slider, including a crash which could happen while switching between Standard and Advanced Tuning Menu mode.
    • Fixed default values resetting to wrong values while switching between Standard and Advanced Tuning Menu mode.
    • Fixed an issue where only Green FlagLEDs were working in the Dashboard, now all FlagLED colors are working.
    • Fixed non-working ACP radio buttons. Now the radio button is reflecting the actual status of the chosen ACP setting and it's now also possible to change the ACP setting in the App which previously had no effect at all.
    • Now possible to switch between Standard and Advanced Tuning Menu through Mobile App.
    • Now possible to reset Tuning Menu settings through Mobile App.

    Known Issues

    • If you had issues with the Control Panel UI crashing: Re-download the driver below (it got updated) -> uninstall the current version -> Install the new driver 451.
We will now apply the fix for the CSL DD as well)
    • The steering input jump issue was greatly improved so the issue happens a lot less than before. Full fix expected for one of the next versions.
