It doesn't start for me and shuts down immediately without a message
Please alwas upload the Windows Event Logs when a software is crashing, otherwise it is literally impossible to analyze why it crashes.
In most cases it is related to some kind of xml error so first start would be to delete the whole xml folder in C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Fanatec\FanaLab and try to start the Lab again.
That was the first thing I did, I had driver 455 on it before and now 464 and it still doesn't work
As I said, without the Windows Event Logs of the Crashes we cant help you as it's impossible to analyze.
That was my solution
I just deleted the folder by hand
Glad its working fine now for you.
I did that as I wrote and it wasn't the solution and the same in my case
What should that image show us? The xml folder I originally meant is placed somewhere else, a Fanatec.org folder should not exist at all in this location.
If you change the language it crashes, and if just update with another language selected you have to reinstall it and keep english (in italian crashes)
For me the Fanatec .Org means something like backup i.e. original because my settings are in there so org=original and the new folder is the fanalab is simply called Fanatec.
Thanks, this gave us a clue where to look at. Apparently there is an issue with non-English hint strings for the new FlagLED telemetry settings. We will provide a hotfix release asap.
For everyone else: When you used a non-English language in your previous installation, then this new version will crash for you after you updated. You need to reset the language registry setting by resetting the FanaLab settings to default during the installation.

And thank you for your amazing work on the profiles
New FanaLab version 2.01.58 available
Fixed crash related to language hint files
Thanks for everyone helping to investigate the crash quickly
Hi, i have a problemi with fanatec led in general with f1 24, basically they doesn't work anymore but in other games like LMU they did, when i override the default led with fanalab profile from maurice they work fine
any ideas?
I have a general question regarding Profile List and Cars List. With the latest Fanalab notes, you mention that new cars were added to the CarsList for AMS2, iRacing, LMU, and R3E. When I look at the actual carlist in the Fanalab folder, I do indeed see all of the new cars. My question is related to Profiles. When I run LMU and click on "Game Profile" on Fanalab, I can see 16 different profiles list. However, it doesn't include any profiles for any of the new LMGT3 cars, even though they do show up when I click on Car logo to open up the LMU Car List. As another example, in RaceRoom, there are tons of cars in the Car List, but the only profile that shows up is the Recommended FFB Settings profile for my base.
My question is... what do I need to do to have actual profiles added to all of the RaceRoom cars, new LMU cars, new AMS3 cars, etc. so that when I race those cars, the profile automatically uses the appropriate FFB values.
Note that I have installed all of the cars and profiles from your latest Maurice' Fanalab Profiles, but there aren't any RaceRoom files to import, etc.
Thanks in advance...
Profiles are not Cars and have nothing to do with the CarsLists. Profiles are provided by users and do not come included with a new Lab release. You manually have to download and import profiles into the Lab on your own.
The CarsList does include all the mentioned new cars and you can bind them to a profile which you create on your own as well when no profiles for the new cars are available online yet (which I indeed have not done yet and I also explicitly dont do R3E profiles as I dont like this game so I wont spent my private time to make profiles for this game, same for other games).
THX for the new FanaLab-Version... but no new profiles from Maurice? 😥
Not yet, no.
The LMU profiles are done but the iRacing profiles are ultra complex because this time every single car uses the extremely annoying and time-intensive RPM-per-gear "feature" where the RPM values are different for every single gear which means 1 profile takes the work of 8 "normal" profiles and takes hours to create. I hope I have them finished in time for christmas but I cant promise anything.
Oh ok. It's a shame for me since LMU is my main sim but I understand it. Take your time. It would make a great Christmas present. Then I can finally try out the LMGT3 (with good FFB) Thanks for your work
.. good FFB and LMU does not fit well together tbh, I still dont really like their FFB and I am not super happy with my current FFB settings for the new cars but I also cant get it better because the general games FFB is just not my cup of tea... I mainly do the LMU profiles for the LED stuff... ;)
👍️
@Maurice what are the preconditions to get a profile automatically loaded for a car when LMU is started? Is it enough to add the correct cars to that profile to make Fanalab load that profile automatically when LMU is started?
Interesting. Tastes are different. Your profiles definitely feel great to me! Since I started using Fanalab + your profiles, I can't drive without it anymore :D
You can mark a profile with the "star" to make it the game favorite profile which gets automatically loaded when the game starts.
Or you bind profiles to cars through the Car List which then get automatically loaded when the respective car is loaded.
The favorite setting works fine from the very begin but the car list doesn't work at all on my side with LMU.
Tested just now and car loading works fine for me in LMU. Then something is screwed with your bindings of the cars to the profiles, maybe you have renamed to profile without unbinding and rebinding the cars again to the renamed profile or so. Best would be to delete the whole xml folder in C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Fanatec\FanaLab and then manually bind the cars to your profiles again.
Thanks, I'll give it a try!
Hey Maurice, will you be making super mega fantastic profiles for all the new vehicles again? Please forgive my presumptuousness, but I am addicted to your profiles which enhance the gaming experience a hundredfold. Happy holidays to you all.
