H PATTERN SHIFTER NOT WORKING- ONLY WORKS IN SEQUENTIAL

So Ive had this ongoing issue since I purchased the shifter 1.5. Only registers in sequential. Put it in h pattern mode and the control panel recognizes its in h pattern, but try to calibrate and the it does not register gears. Have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers multiple times, tried a new cable, have disassembled and reassembled shifter itself, got a new cable from fanatec and still no luck. Ive see this posted in reddit and people either seem to get lucky with it starting to work, or they still have not gotten it working. Now Fanatec wants me to ship it back for diagnosis and repair. Very frustrating as I just got the unit and bought this to enjoy, and Id like to return it and get a new working one but they are sold out. I bought a $35 usb shifter that is obviously of cheap build quality but works perfect. Has anyone ran into this before?

H PATTERN SHIFTER NOT WORKING- ONLY WORKS IN SEQUENTIAL

This shifter has two sensors, one is to tell if it's up, down, or in the middle (SQ mode only uses this one), and the other one is to find the "horizontal" position and the gate it is put in. H-pattern mode uses it along with the first sensor. From your description, it looks like the second sensor is not working at all and Fanatec QC dropped the ball again if they sold you a brand new shifter in this condition

it requires little thought. the metal touches the board, which can damage the PCB
