Automobilista (PC) - Fanatec Recommended Settings

General Notes:
  • The settings below are considered to be reasonable baseline values for Automobilista (PC). They might not suit all tastes and driving styles, but they are a good starting point. Bear in mind that Automobilista uses a dynamic physics engine covering a broad range of cars and tracks, meaning that these settings might not be 'optimal' for every possible driving scenario.
  • In order to apply the suggested settings correctly, it is important to assign both the Tuning Menu values AND the suggested In-Game settings together.- For the Podium Series settings, it is assumed that the Torque Key is being used.
  • Fanatec wheel bases require an 'inverted' FFB signal from Automobilista - note the 'minus' value for the in-game 'Force Feedback Strength' setting.
  • Please ensure you are using the latest firmware for all Fanatec devices.

Automobilista dosnt work here with the dd1, steering works but the ffb is reverse and there is no ingame option to change.

EDIT: solved.    the ffb slider works into both directions, from -100% to +100%  :) i thought it was 0-100

Indeed the inverted slider is a bit confusing in this game. I've edited the description to make this clearer.
  • Why Pure 180Hz and not 360Hz in Force Feedback Effects?
  • Why Pure 180Hz and not 360Hz in Force Feedback Effects?
Good question. I have it at 360Hz and it's fine.

it's fine either with  720hz on the modified ini file...

I was trying AMS with the recommended settings, but every car had real heavy steer with that. So I adjusted it a bit on my own. I think this is a fair one:

    Tuning Menu Settings:
    SEN AUT
    FF 55
    SHO 100
    ABS User Preference
    DRI -02
    FOR 100
    SPR 100*
    DPR 100*
    BRF User Preference
    FEI 80

*SPR and DPR values have no effect.

    In-Game Settings
    Controller Type: Wheel
    Auto Steering Rotation: On
    Force Feedback Effects: Pure 3600Hz
    Force Feedback Strength: -100%
    FFB Low Force Boost: 0%
    Steering Speed Sensitivity: 0%
    Steering Rate: 100%
    Throttle Rate: 100%
    Brake Rate: 100%
    Clutch Rate: 100%

It's not too heavy, but also not too light. Kerbs and such comes nicely tru.

Forget my previous post.. Recommend settings by Fanatec is much better. I am such a fool. But with 360hz ofc. After many hours I concluded the lower / finer details were gone and it was often too light.. Learned something :D

  • Anyone have AMS 2 settings yet?

  • You can try to use AMS1 setting, so -Dri 2 and then use 50/0/0 for CSW 2.5 or dial in what you prefer.

  • Good DAy

Automobilista 2 is out so we need a new section with settings for all the steering wheels

    thanks

  • I need settings for a DD2. I put 100 in game at 15 in the driver (and tried it vice versa), but the smaller fine details i didnt feel as much. I had to bring the spring down to around 1 also, and the Low Force Boost I put down to 0 (i think that's the minimum force needed for the belt driven wheels), and FX i dont even know what that option is.

Any Help would be appreciated guys!

  • I am now using 45/10/0 with the CSW, but might tune to 40/10/0 or 40/15/0 or just go back to 50/0/0. A car or two are really heavy or incredibly light. Caterham Superlight seems to be a good baseline for FFB finetuning. The Vee Fin and the Stock Brasil are into the extreme spectrum, hehe.

  • What are people using for FX and Menu Spring in-Game for the DD1/DD2?

  • So I dialed in new settings. I go with 32/50/0 or might pick 32/50/20 for some brake-lock feedback.

    I also made a guide: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2045200666

For now I recommended for CSW 2.5:

    Tuning Menu Settings:

    SEN AUT

    FF 100

    SHO 100

    ABS User Preference

    DRI -02

    FOR 100

    SPR 100*

    DPR 100*

    BRF User Preference

    FEI 100

    In-Game Settings

    Gain: 30-35

    LFB: 50

    FX: User preference

  • If you have problem with the game detecting your DD wheel or your paddle shifters in game, simply use the Custom wheel instead of the Fanatec preset, then everything works just fine.

  • In the game menu there is another box for Fanatec Settings (has stuff like brake accel rumble). What is the recommended for those as I just turned those off?

  • Having no luck with the CSL DD, McLaren GT3 Wheel and V3 Pedals. It hates everything 🧐

The CSL DD used to say CSW V2.5 Compatible but after the last update it just says PC Compatible. Automobilista says CSW V2 only. I can not find a custom wheel as in Automobista 2. Any help would be appreciatied. TIA.

  • I'm on the latest driver/firmware for my new DD Pro but in AMS1 i can't get auto rotation to work. Is there a workaround to this of a driver that it does work on?
