Known Issues
- It can happen that after the driver installation or firmware update the wheel base is not shown in the device list anymore. In this case open the driver installation again and run the repair function.
- Podium wheel base jolts can still happen on ITM or analysis screens of the DDs display. A workaround is to use the default screen with “Fanatec” logo while driving.
- In combination with FanaLab and a SEN AUTO setting, the steering angle can change to 360 even though it should be 1080. A workaround is to open the driver interface once or use SEN of 1080.
- ClubSport Magnetic Paddle Module is shown as Podium Advanced Paddle Module in the driver and needs one shifter input to be shown on the test page. This is only a cosmetic issue, the input works as intended.

Please also take a look at the PDF instructions if you have questions and issues, there is a whole trouble shooting section and updating the firmware is explained step by step!

How to report issues:
If you report a driver or firmware issue, please make cross checks:
- Update driver and FW separately to isolate an issue and find out if its caused by driver OR firmware.
- Which driver OR firmware does show the issue
- Which driver OR firmware does not show the issue
- Check if you can reproduce the issue again if you go back to the version which seems to have cause the issue
- Post the answers gathered from the questions above + a short description of the issue including the following information:
- Wheel Base Model (product ID): ...
- Steering Wheel Model (product ID): ....
- Driver Version: ....
- Base FW Version: ....
- Motor FW Version: ....
- Wheel FW Version: ....

Nice work guys! What was causing the clunk when turning off the DD?
Thanks for this.
It was a bug of the improved and more direct FFB calculation.
Are the universal hub buttons working now?
yes
Thanks Maurice 👍
🤔
Is the csw 2.5 universal xbox hub compatible ?
It always was.
If you mean if the issue with the buttons is fixed: yes
Hi,
I have a CSW2.5 and a Porsche 911 with Advanced Module Buttonbox. Once I download and install this driver I can't find the CSW2.5 wheelbase in my fanatec property page. So I cant continue following the stepps. Anyone know how to solve this?
Kind regards,
Ruben
Thanks a lot, I will start the tests.
You have to uninstall your old driver first, then reboot the pc, then install the new driver and then reboot the pc again. If you just install driver or driver or dont restart the PC then this might cause this issue that the WB is not shown anymore.
I restarted my PC along the process twice (also when I repaired the installation). Maybe this is a dumbass question, but how do I uninstall a driver?
Oh, you should maybe google that, its a basic in PC software which you should know.
Basically, open the Windows Control Panel, Click on Programs and Features, search for FanaLab and click Uninstall.
Lol, Marcel I mean. 😁
I like the simplified update screen, with the Flash Firmware button (2)!
However, being the curious person I am, I clicked on button (1).
This brought up a file loading screen, which I cancelled.
Now the first button is grayed out so my only option is to close the updater.
Unfortunately, most users get to the updater via the driver screen:
And since the base was restarted in firmware update mode, it no longer shows up.
This could leave a novice user with a non-working wheelbase.
Suggestion: If the user hits button (1) and then cancels, put the updater button (2) back to the initial state so the user can complete the update.
Advice for others who run into this:
I found a fix for this for my wheelbase, but I do not want to post the instructions here, in case the process is different for different wheelbases. I'll DM Marcel what I did and post if he feels it would be beneficial to the community to do so. Feel free to DM me if you have questions.
Installed new version of the driver and Fanalab. After that installed all new firmwares on my DD1 and a few wheels (F1 v2, F1 LE 2020 and Podium hub with Endurance Module).
All went without issues and all pages work with the Endurance module. Have not tested for long of course but had no issues so far with the new versions in combination with iRacing and F1 2020.
Lets test a bit more the coming days.
Thanks for the great work Marcel.
Just curious, does this version now support proper button assignment in games for the CSW Universal HUB?
yes, as listed in the changelog
Right, I'm on now too. Had to use a second PC to do the firmware but main machine now up and running but that was probably a localised issue. I will test on ACC 2 hour race and iracing and report back. Fingers crossed it removes the freeze issues for good. Cheers
Thanks, this is a very good point, we are currently working on making the whole process a lot more simple and are addressing this there. Sadly the new update procedure wasn't ready for public yet but we might introduce it soon.
Indeed it does fix it. My apologies, I didn't spot where it mentioned this fix for the U-HUB within the changelog.
Regards.
Drift mode setting (DRI) now has a max setting of +3 to prevent excessive oscillations
Great. How does this translate into -5 / +5? I am using -2 in AMS 1 & 2 and RBR.
yeah changelog is so big that you can easily miss one of the fixes.. :D
"Fixed an USB communication issue which could cause a wheel base freeze"
Does it fix the following issue I've since day one (early may 2019) on a DD1 with drivers 335 and 346, and I struggle to figure out if it's a base or a driver issue (I don't use the wheel much since last year and it can take 12+ hours before happening, or happen after one lap)?
I managed to get the driver package installed but when going to update motor firmware
it appears like so and then vanishes with no further message
Restarting the wheel from the rear power button gets my wheel base to reappear in game controllers
but its not updating my motor firmware
any suggestions would be helpful, I have also uninstalled the old Fanalabs for now
Looks like an issue with the USB port, did you tried a different USB port?
Also what kind of USB are you using, 2.0 or 3.0?
I also have a problem with motor FW update. When i click it nothing happens. Base firmware updater works with no problem but motor firmware doesn't. It's not the problem with the driver but with windows or some other software. I used a secondary PC and it all worked with no problem. I haven't found out yet what is causing this on my PC.
Universal hubs buttons work now?
