Hello,
I'm a bit stupid haha, i saw this week a youtube video of Jardier and his new DD1, and in the comments i read something about the "Torque key" ... I always thought that only the DD2 has that key ... So i always driven in "low torque" about 5 months now (yes very stupid haha) ...... I've read that is about 40 % of 20nm ... so about 8 nm max, that is also heavy ! When i set it to 100% in Fanalab ... Do i miss that key ? Do i need that key ? Are there people that use much more than 8 nm ? I drive 95 % of the time Iracing, and 8 nm is strong enough i think? Or do i miss with low torq more things ? Response time or details etc ?
Because also, i can't find my torque key ....

Oh for sure you WANT to use this key to not run into clipping, which is one of THE main aspects of a DD - to never run into any kind of clipping. When not using the Torque Key you are limited to around 9NM Peak Force. Only with the Torque Key, which you should find in your DD packaging, enables the full range of up to 20Nm Peaks.
If you lost it, you could contact the Fanatec Support and ask them if they can send you a new one (dont know if they would charge for that if you lost it though but shouldnt cost much anyway).
If you are amazed already with Low Torque.... Then you will be completely blown away of what you will feel with the Torque Key.
Yeah oke thanks haha ... So for the clipping is the key better, but for now when i put it on 100% (9nm) and than let Iracing calibrate the ffb, the wheel is also very heavy .... I did email Fanatec, but they are normally not so fast with response hahah ... And yeah, i looked in the box but it is not there anym
Sorry last text was not complete ....
Yeah oke thanks haha ... So for the clipping is the key better, but for now when i put it on 100% (9nm) and than let Iracing calibrate the ffb, the wheel is also very heavy ...till that clipping point, but than i still miss much detail ? I did email Fanatec, but they are normally not so fast with response hahah ... And yeah, i looked in the box but it is not there anymore, and don't know where it is ... But i'll wait for the response of fanatac
Don’t let iracing auto calibrate. Try setting max force at 60 to start off with.
Yes now i have 100 % in Fanalab (low torq because still no torq key) and than drive some normal rounds on Iracing and click on "auto" and after that about 5 clicks lower
But i hope someone from support is reading this also haha, and can check if my support ticket was received last weekend and 2 days ago. About that torq key 😁
The Fanatec support is really great from my experience. I was missing the QR screw for my CSW 2.5 and they send it right away, free of charge. Response time might be a bit longer at the moment because of the Black Friday aftermath, but that´s to be expected. Also don´t forget to check your Spam folder, for some reason, all fanatec emails end up in spam folder for me.
Yeah they help you, when you have contact ... But it takes really long before you have contact. Last time with my RMA of the DD1 i did not get any e-mail, all the info i needed was here in a DM on the Forum
Is the torque key anymore than a few connected 6P6C RJ12 contacts??
No, it's actually a tiny oblong home for really strong magic pixies.
Haha don't know what it exact is, it is not much 😅 I can't make it myself
Problem solved ! I can't delete this discussion.
