Which game? Which FanaLab version? Which driver is installed?
This should not happen and you are actually the only one reporting this problem so I would say no, its not a general Bug but more something weird going on with your pc..
Maybe you xould zip the logs and send them to Marcel so they can get analyzed.
Fanalab version 1.53 and the games F1 2019, Dirt Rallye 2.0 at least. And drivers of Clubsport Wheel Base V2.5 PC drvier 381 and Firmware 680. It does not happen always but almost every time. My GPU is a RX 5700 XT and I am having some problems with F1 2019 crashing the game always when I leave the game
Hey Guys, little question for the future. Are u planning a Feature like Slimax Support for manual Button mapping with keystroke macros? Maybe to map Keyboard Inputs as Well :)
Or maybe anybody know if it is possible to use fanalab and just that one Feature of Slimax?
Because i love fanalab, but miss something to Programm macros
ClubSport Wheel Base 2.5 with Podium Steering Wheel Porsche 911 GT3 R:
PC Driver: 381
Wheel Base FW: 680
Wheel Base Motor FW: 22
Steering Wheel FW: 15
Podium Hub FW: 4
The only problem I have encounter so far is when I turn on the wheel base, ITM is off on the PBME. So I need to manually disable ITM on Fanalab V1.53 and enable it again. Now ITM shows on PBME.
Also, do we have info if other parameters on iRacing will show up on the PBME?
Like; TC settings, ABS setting, Engine mapping, Car ahead, car behind...
A cool feature would be having the ability to modify what we see on each page. I would like to see on a same page: Position, Fuel, Oil temp, brake bias, Speed & gear.
Fanalab cant add what's not outputed in the telemetry by the game.. So unfortunately it's fully up to iRacing to implement for example TC and ABS into their Telemetry. Which they wont do because they actively hide this from their Telemetry to prevent c heating.
Second request would be nice but requires a LOT of development time and cost and therefore wont come.
I received my Fanatec CSL with P1 wheel yesterday (ordered on BF and rec yesterday, that was fast!). I installed the latest driver and firmware (381). The wheel is amazingly great! (I was using Logitech DFP) and I wonder why I didn't do this sooner.
The problem I have was after installing Fanalab 1.53 (in its default dir) and when I launched it, I saw the fanalab window coming up then went away. I uninstalled it, rebooted, reinstalled it, same thing.
Searched on the web showed that other people had the same problem but I couldn't find any solution.
Did any of you ran into this and how did you get it working? I really like to have it as I really like to be able to save more than 5 presets (and other things too like the Rev lights not working with AC without fanalab)
Thank you for any help you can give.
PS: Looking in Windows 10 event viewer, it logged several entries on Fanalab causing application error.
I reinstalled fanalab. Ran it and I saw the main fanalab window came up then disappeared.
I saw Fanalab icon on the system tray and when I moved my mouse over it disappeared by itlsef.
I check what you suggested below but I don't have that "PodiumControl" folder at all so I couldn't delete it.
If FanaLab doesn't start this can be fixed by deleting the Fanalab folder in C:\users\[username]\AppData\Local\PodiumControl and then restarting Fanalab. Please send me the log files after solving the issue, it's described at the end of this post how to collect logs"
I relaunched fanalab several times and it always disappeared.
My info: Windows 10. Brand new CSL + / P1 wheel with 381 driver (wheel base firmware 680, motor fw 22).
Looking at Windows event viewer and saw a few entries saying Fanalab application error.
I do not have the podium control folder specified in the first post & have tried rolling back to fanalab 1.47 to no avail.
The fanatec banner and UI pops up briefly then fanatec banner pops up over the UI again then it crashes. Icon vanishes in system tray when you mouse over it.
Tried Drivers 380 & 381
Fanalab 1.53 & 1.47 crash on start up
CSL elite v1.1
Driver 380
WB FW 680
Please help, I've even done a fresh windows install & it's doing the same thing. Driver & fanalab installed on same hard drive.
My suggestion now is manually create the PodiumControl folder in C:\users\[username]\AppData\Local\ and see if that'll work. My guess is that because it can't find the said folder, it doesn't have the create/locate necessary "files" to launch FanaLab properly. I don't know if it'll work but it's worth a try.
Thanks Maurice for the feedback. It makes sense iRacing not providing this type of info to prevent cheaters.
At least it would be great if Fanatec can move items to the same page on Fanalab, so then at least we can see a full working page for example on iracing.
Comments
Brake Bias is supported in iRacing since the very first Fanalab release im September 2019...
Are you using the latest driver and firmware? FanaLab works with other titles?
This is totally nit-picking, but the term "dampening" is used in several places, especially on the Dynamic FFB tab.
It would be correct to use "damping".
Damping is what is done by a damper. To dampen would be to make moist 😀
Fanalab closes or crashes every time I leave a game. Is this a bug?

I am going to try and do some tests. Thank you. Where can I see the logs of Fanalab?
You can directly collect the logs in the Fanalab settings.

Please see first post for a workaround.
Thank you for your reply. Which workaround are you referring to?
Never mind. I saw it now. I was blind. I'll give it a try and report back. Thank you!

Did you install FanaLab on a different drive?
I'm having the same issues as Michael Lang.

Just tried it. Manually creating the folder doesn't work either.
Have tried creating folder & opening fanalab = crash
Creating folder, deleting folder & opening = crash
Hi,
To enable telemetry for rfactor2 i have some problems.
Can not find a part of the path. Plugin \\Podiumrfactor2plugin.dll is on in plugin menu.
CLW 2.5 (all updated)
f1 v2 wheel (all updated)
fanalab latest version 1.53
any suggestion appricated!
Do you have installed FanaLab in its default directory?
Maurice is there a folder i can navigate to to obtain the log files so you can see what's going on?
Log files can be collected within the Fanalab settings
I can't launch fanalab to get in the settings, it crashes soon after launching as per my post. No log files available then..?
yes I have "C:\Program Files (x86)\Fanatec\FanaLab\Control\FanaLab.exe"
regards

You woild need to do this for every game... This is not planned AFAIK. You will have to live with the ITM as it is..
