Clubsport+APM - Deadzone on analog paddles?

The APM guide states that 'some' Universal hubs for xbox one may exhibit a dead zone.
How often does that happen - is it unlikely to be the case for newer stock?
Ultimately I'm after a wheel with both a funkyswitch and APM.

This only affects old Universal Hubs. New ones have a new firmware installed which doesn't suffer from the Deadzone.
