Does the load cell pedal require a new firmware update?
I received mine a couple of weeks back, I've been trying to use it intermittently but I have been having issues from the get go. It wouldn't work with the old block, which I ended up giving up on trying to fix that weekend (taking the stuff on/off with playseat is a pain), but I installed the new block on the bottom and it doesn't register anything now.
Does it require new firmware update or is it possible that I got sent a bad batch?

Tim what do you mean old and new block? The electronics box?
It's more likely that your load cell is gone because you used it on the old box. The "old" box only works with potentiometer pedals and is not suitable to work with load cells.
You should have use the box that was included with the load cell from the start. And the load cell pedal should only be connected to the brake port of the new box. Like stated in the quick start.
So only option is to make a support ticket I would say.
Yeah, it's RJ45 so I doubt that plugging it into the eletronics box was enough to kill both pedals.
Did you by any chance connect the RJ12 cable to the base and then in the USB in order to check the drivers app and update it? Cause that might have fried the electronics.
Anyway try updating the pedal drivers separately through USB and don't forget to disconnect the RJ cable going to the base while doing so.

I would also open a support ticket through your fanatec account under "My Products" section.
