I have the CSL Elite V1.1 and the Porsche 918 wheel. Is there a way to assign a keystroke to a button on the wheel?

joy2key or similar
I tried joy2key but I had pretty massive (about 2 seconds) input lag. Probably a setting I missed somewhere. Was hoping for a more direct solution.
