McLaren GT3 V2 Steering Wheel Not Recognized

I just received my new McLaren GT3 V2 steering wheel. I updated the firmware without the wheel being attached, everything was going good and then I was asked to attach the steering wheel to update firmware for the wheel. I connected the wheel and it says "steering wheel not connected". Did I get a bad wheel? Any help would be appreciated.

Which driver/firmware did you use? Did you use the latest V401 version?
There is no V401. I tried v381 and v400, neither worked. I think this has confirmed that I need to leave the Fanatec ecosystem and join Simcube .
I think I may know what the issue is, I have a PS4 CSL Elite wheel base and the wheel they sent me is Xbox/PC. Will that prevent the wheel from being recognized by my existing wheel base?
No - I have the same set up and my McLaren GT3 V2 wheel was recognized by the PS4 CSL wheel base.
Did you install the firmware for the wheelbase or the steering wheel. Its a bit confusing. If you follow the video, it says to update wheelbase and then you will be prompted to attach steering wheel to update steering wheel firmware. Just trying to figure out which is the correct driver to select from the download list (wheelbase or steering wheel).
I decided to just return the wheel and sell all of my Fanatec gear. Trying to get support from Fanatec is absolutely ridiculous.
Hard to argue with. I still haven't heard a word back from support re a different issue I'm having with the McLaren GT3 V2 wheel.
You don't realize Fanatec support is non-existent until you run into a problem for the first time.

i have the same issue with my McClarenGt3 V1 wheel. I updated tHE DD2 driver and the rest of my wheels (F1 v2 , BMW, R300) all worked fine. When i hook up the McClaren , is says "caution the wheel is not supported by the current firmware" and is not recognized as attached. I've tried going back to an older driver (381) and still the same thing. it's like my wheel is bricked. i need to reset it to factory or something and try again. but i cant with the wheel not being recognized. Help.
