Fanatec issues with X570/B550 boards
Hey folks, after about 2 weeks of troubleshooting - I have come to the conclusion that there is definitely a driver/hardware compatibility issue with Fanatec CSL Elite base(s) and the X570/B550 boards.
There is currently a USB AGESA issue with the Ryzen 5000 series and X570/B550 boards that AMD has supposedly addressed via a BIOS update June 16th 2021 - however, I do not see any changes in the behavior of my Fanatec Devices.
Does anyone else have a X570/B550 board running a CSL elite? any power issues?
I have logitech hardware for flightsim as well as honeycomb yoke but neither either 'powered' controllers so I don't experience any issues.
The fanatec is self-powered and so I am running into really weird issues with it randomly disconnecting when running games or doing FFB tests.
Specs:
Ryzen 5950x w/ Asus X570 Crosshair VIII Dark Hero
EVGA 3090 FTW3 / 64Gb DDR4 / 980 Pro 2TB Nvme / Corsair 1000W HX1000
TIA!

Huh. Strange problem. I don't have a CSL wheel, but I've had no problems with my Podium on a similarly spec'd system. Did you contact Fanatec support?
I have a ASUS ROG STRIX X570-I, AMD R 7-3800, DD1, V3 and deliberately use the USB 2.0 ports. No issues.
I have read quite a lot of comment that faster USB 3.0 ports can give communication issues and errors.
also on AMD, B550, no issues.
Ended up buying internal USB 3.0 card - solved all issues. Frustrating that this is only happening with the fanatec wheel but it is also not their fault, AMD has acknowledged the issue(s).
