CSL DD sudden irregular kicks and occasional crashes in ACC
Hi,
I only noticed the below mentioned issue in Assetto Corsa Competizione. I haven't noticed this during 10h+ in AC and I don't play any other racing games. I wouldn't notice this in Dirt Rally anyway. I have never got this problem in ACC with my previous wheel but I haven't played ACC in a long while so cannot tell if it's a Kunos or Fanatec related. So if any Moderator knows this is strictly ACC related then please move it to ACC subforum.
I have a CLS DD with Boost Kit + Universal Hub V2 for Xbox/PC + Podium Button Module Endurance. Playing on PC. Drivers 429 with all included firmwares updated + Fanalab 1.60.6
Problem #1:
Very occasionally (sometimes once per couple of sessions sometimes twice per 1hr race) I get a strong kick in the wheel while mid turn - not touching kerbs, going wide on grass, not hitting another car etc. Perfect tarmac-only line without overdriving. I feels like driving over a big stone high speed but in fact instead it's a very rapid (like 0.01s) hard pull left-to-right or right-to-left. It is clearly a pull/push force and not suspension FFB forces because my view changes for a fraction of a second. I have my virtual steering wheel hidden completely but clearly the wheel centers and then returns to its previous position. It happens so fast that it almost doesn't affect my driving line at all (I sometimes make a mistake because of it due to distraction but not like I'm thrown off track). I do not get any disconnect, nothing blinks on my PBME nor on the base, no Windows USB dis/connect sound, everything works perfectly afterwards. This only happens while turn-in or mid turn - never on straight. The wheel is well secured and the QR is fit firmly.
This has been mentioned here:
but the title does not mention it so I thought maybe creating a dedication topic would not be a bad idea.
Problem #2:
I think it might be related to #1. ACC crashed on me twice so far precisely when I hit the inner curb. It's almost like the FFB spike was too high for something to handle. Once on the last turn in Laguna Seca - there is a high curb/bump there - this would even make sense. Second time was on Nurburgring - but these are flat so it's weird. Again, I have never experienced this with my previous wheel but I haven't driven ACC for a long time so cannot tell if it's the wheel or the game.
Does anyone suffer from similar issues?
