CSL DD Pro Grand Turismo Wheel not shifting

I have the DD Pro with GT wheel and sometimes when I go to up or down shift its doesn't do it. It doesn't do it all the time, just every once in awhile. It doesn't matter what racing title I use it will do it once or twice then works fine. Sometimes I have to shift a couple of times before it changes gears. The wheel is so hard to take on and off I have left it on since new. Anyone else had this happen?
