You could fit spacers - either between the bracket and the base or between the bracket and the paddle. Something like these - Aluminium Spacers/Standoff Collars - Anodised (gwr-fasteners.co.uk)
Thing is they say it's compatible with my wheel but it's clearly not.
Things is, you asked the community if there was any way to get them closer. I took the time to help you with that.
You would be better contacting Fanatec directly and arranging a return if you are simply not happy with them. No need to waste anybody else's time.

Fanatec should include something like this in the box or even better fundamentally redesign the product. Glad you got it usable.
