PCars 2 DD1 Gear Up/Down Issues

I finally got the game to recognize input from the DD1, however I have found that even after successfully mapping the paddles as gear up and down in the menu, in-game, they act like they aren't mapped. The settings are set to be a manual car with auto clutch in order to use the paddles, and in the menu, the paddles are recognized when mapping them, but they fail to work in-game. Has anyone else run into this issue and know how to fix it?

    Same here, switching does work if you set in game setting to automatic, but that's not the intention...I want to switch gears myself!!!

    Anyone got a solution?
