Coil whine. Very common in these direct drive bases and will do no harm to the base. Though Maurice the tester for Fanatec once said the CS DD/DD+ should be dead silent. So it is up to you whether you want to RMA it or not. If you decide to RMA then you can expect to have the whole process to complete in 3-4 months and there are lots of other horror stories regarding RMA. So it's your choice.

Yes, unfortunately some series are affected. The base goes back to Fanatec for recalibration, it's called coil wine.
For me, a company that does not test their products before sending them to their respective customers, is a serious mistake.

by default base should not whine. so its a defect
