CSL DD Base multiple odd issues (PC)

So I've searched here and other places, but nothing seems to match my 3 symptoms completely.

(1)The main problem is when entering a turn (the majority of the time when it happens or an instance that requires an increase in FFB) the Wheel will jerk and locks up, the throttle, cutch, and break inputs max out for a split second, then it all returns to normal (photo attached showing the inputs maxing out). Unfortunately, I then have to recover from going off track, because its always happening in a turn.

(2) Then sometimes, but not always, the rumble mechanism in the pedals for both the throttle and break will just keep vibrating, usually after issue 1 happens but sometime without issue 1 happening but after a high FFB event. I can't stop the vibration, unless I shut off the wheel base (even after closing iRacing they keep vibrating).

(3) The third issue is the wheel will go full force into one direction and stay there. I can still turn the wheel and continue driving, but of course its very difficult to do so. Again restarting the base is only way to fix it. (this happens at separate times to issue 1 or 2)

These three issue seem to occur randomly in that I can be practicing or racing from just 1 minute in before it does it or go for 30+ minutes with no issues before it happens. It also seems to be getting worst, in that issue 1 started about 2 weeks ago, happening when I first would start a play session, then never occur the rest of the 2+ hours I played. However, earlier this week the other two things (2 & 3) started and the frequency increased with issue 1 with it happening multiple times in just a 30 min period.

Yesterday I tried flashing the fanatec firmware and upgraded it to PC driver 457 as it was originally version 455 before, but no change in the issue. Base Motor is 1.0.3.2, Wheel base 1.2.0.9, and wheel McLaren GT3 V2 47. I've also tried lowering the FFB strength in the fanatec control panel to 98% but again no change. Checked all the various connections and they all seem secure.

To be honest, I am not 100% sure if its a fanatec hardware/software issue or if maybe its the game (iRacing), as I don't have another sim to test it installed currently.

Ultimately I guess I'm just looking to see if anyone else has had multiple issues like this or if there is some know issue I might have missed to fix it. Equipment is 2.5 years old, so debating if its worth bothering to go through the support process if its the hardware or maybe time to upgrade...

    (3) fanatec does have one bug where it may happen, but i suspect that your issue comes from game .

iracing constantly updates game. who knows what bugs comes out with they every new release

one what you could try is use some other usb port

  • this (3) error happens usually when the ffb effect is not released in code, it forces then push steering wheel the one direction because hardware thinks that it's still in use.

  • Ok interesting thanks, I'll plan to reach out to iRacing support too.
