OK to lightly lubricate V2 loadcell shaft? Encouraged?
Hey all, quick question on Elite V2 pedals. Is it encouraged to lightly lubricate V2 loadcell shaft or the elastomers?
It kind of feels OK to very lightly lubricate the loadcell shaft to remove any plastics friction, but not sure if there's any issues with it. I'm talking very lightly coating the shaft only, not poured on.
Let me know what you think. Thanks.
In the manual, does not specify any lubrication outside of mechanical joints.

I always use lubricant on my pedals for any part that moves or pivots (CSL, v3, v3i, Heusinkveld Ult). This is mainly due to my sensitivity to squeaking and rattling noises, but it also extends longevity and functionality. The key here would be ensuring you are using a lubricant that does not break down the materials it comes in contact with.
If a particular lubricant is not specified or included with a product, my favorite go-to for years has been a spray can of white lithium grease. I use this for all household and automotive applications. It does leave a white residue which makes it easy to cleanup overspray, but isn’t the prettiest solution (function over form here).
Fanatec does include a small bottle of lithium grease with the v3 series of pedals and the v3 brake kit. They include instructions to lubricate the actual inserts that go into the v3 brake so I would assume this is safe to use for the polymers on the elites also.
Thanks Jason, makes sense on white lithium on mechanical joins.
Per your comment, I wonder if lithium grease included in CSP V3, brake performance kit are OK to use against V2 rubber elastomers. I assume yes, given V3 brake performance kit includes lithium grease and it is instructed to apply on rubber elastomers.
I'm probably over thinking this, I will apply little coat of lithium grease on V2 brake shaft to help against rubber elastomers and plastic washers.
