McLaren with Updated QR DD2 Hi Trq?
Hi, I have a McLaren GT3 wheen UPDATED with QR system (not simple quick release) but I can not get to turn on Hi Trq for the wheel.
I understand that the base defaults to Low Torque on rims with simplified quick release, but this is not the case on my McLaren wheel.
Is there a way to enable Hi Torque with the McLaren wheel on the DD2????

Seems like the Pin to activate Low Trq is stuck. Try detaching the QR and push the contact plate a few times in and out and make sure it stays out and doesnt get stuck in.
I am not sure about what yo uare talking about. I don't think this has anything to do with a pin. The QR was replaced a long time ago and I have been using the wheel with no trouble on the CSW 2.5. Just upgraded to DD2 this week and the GT3 wheel deactivated Hi Torque automatically.
When a Fanatec steering wheel with Simplified Quick Release is used on a Podium Wheel Base, the torque will automatically reduce to the level of the ClubSport Wheel Base V2.5. My McLaren wheel no longer has the simplified QR, it has the CLUBSPORT QR Adapter.
Is there a way to turn on Hi TORQUE??
It doesn't matter if you changed the QR a long time ago.
Do what I suggested and I am extremely confident that your issue is fixed.
So, detach the Metal QR. In the back of the McLaren you see a hole with a moving contact plate - almost 100% this one is stucked in and gets in contact with the wheel pcb to indicate that the big pin of the plastic QR is pushing against it to deactivate High Trq Mode.
I see what you are saying. It is stuck in. Trying to unstuck it now. Thanks.
Actually, it seems to be as far out as it can, not stuck. Let me attach a photo.
Is that pushed in? I can push it further in but doesn't come out further than that.
just push it in a few times and let it release, then re-attach the Metal QR and see if its enabling High Trq now :)
You could also gently attach it without the Metal QR to see if High Trq is already working so you dont have to first attach the QR and eventually have to detach it again.. But be careful with the pins!
First, thanks for all your help.
Second, I attached again with the new QR (just two screws to protect the pins) but it still activates Lo trq. Not sure if the pin is all the way out but that is all I can get (shown in the photo).
Mhm so what is the exact message you get in the DD OLED when attaching the wheel? Not the message to press a button to accept high Trq? The Trq Key on the back is properly inserted?
If all that isn't helping then I think you have to contact the support, either the Base or the McLaren has an issue then.
Alright, I opened the wheel, took the spring out manually and now it works!!!
Thanks!
ah great! :-)
I had sent my wheel for repair in the past. I guess the spring might have gotten stuck in the "push" position. Anyway, thanks for the help.
I have the extact same problem. https://youtu.be/yv3ikF1RNMo
I might have to remove the damn spring!!
