Storing the Torque Key

Can I safely store the Torque Key in another port on the DD2 like Shifter2? I am not using it but I am afraid of losing it.... I would guess it's a bad idea but it seemed like a good solution if it would not cause issues.

    What is in the torque key?

    Is there electronics ar just a jumper?

    So, is there possibility it goes broken?

    Not available as spare part?
