Can't calibrate DD1 in iRacing

Just got a new DD1. I configured DD1 with driver 352 in fanalab 1.23 for iRacing profile. Then opened iRacing. As soon as the sim engine starts to open, the wheel rapidly spins left until it hits the lock. When I go to calibrate the wheel, DD1 will not let me turn the wheel. When I exit the sim, the DD1 releases and turns as normal. Any ideas?
