Damper Kit Adjuster Knob

The adjuster knob fell off the end of my damper on my brake pedal earlier this afternoon. I placed it back on the damper and set it to where I had it and just tightened down the set screws. I had forgot to retighten them after making adjustments. I assume I did the correct thing? Or is the damper screwed now?
