Just recently I noticed my V2.5 has a high pitched sound when on ?
it is not real loud but noticeable when the house is quite
Is this normal for these or is it a sign the end is near ?
Any insight appreciated

Thats the coilwhine of the motor firmware 18. You can try try the newest beta drivbers which have a new motor firmware 22 which completely eliminates this high pitch coilwhine sound.

Looking at the Beta drivers pages and it is enough to give you a headache
Seems like none of these drivers ever make it out of Beta ? wonder why that is ...........
What seems to be the best Beta driver package for the V2.5 ?

I am using the 347 drivers. Many are using the motor firmware 20 on theirs, but I haven't seen any issues with 22. I believe it comes with the 22 firmware by default, but there is a link in the forum that includes the hex files for 18, 20 and 22 firmwares.
Still getting coil sound with hex.20
Are you getting it with hex.22 ?
Motor 22 fixes the coil whine completely, v20 only partially.
