Porsche 918 RSR wheel on CSL Elite PS4 base

With the new BF sale, the Porsche and BMW rims caught my eye. I saw some talk online about the extra weight making FFB spongy. I know the Porsche rim is lighter than the BMW so I'm wondering if anyone is running the 918 wheel on a CSL elite base.

Did you notice a difference in feedback? Are you happy with it? Or is it not worth if unless you're at the 2.5 or higher bases? I've liked the ps4 wheel so far, so I'm not dying for the upgrade but the leather wheel looks nice.

Thanks.

Both the BMW GT2 and Porsche 918 wheels work fine on the CSL Elite Wheel Bases. Bear in mind that the BMW GT2 was introduced with the original (discontinued) ClubSport Wheel Base, and the current CSL Elite Wheel Bases are more powerful than that.

However, it is true that the Porsche 918 is a bit lighter than the BMW GT2. Lighter wheels have less rotational inertia, and therefore can feel more responsive.

  • I had wheels with the about same weight and diameter when I still had my CSL Elite base.

    Works fine.
