Cannot update Formula V2 wheel...solution!
Morning,
I updated my DD1 without any issues but when I tried to update the Formula v2 wheel the program hung and went into ‘not responding’ mode. My issue turned out to be that the updater was trying to use a COM port that was already in use.
While the updater was ‘not responding’, right-clicking on the start menu and selecting ‘device manager’ allowed me to see the ports in use in the ‘Ports (COM & LPT)’ section. The Fanatec updater is clearly marked with the relevant COM port. I also had listed a device using the same COM port as the Fanatec updater. Right-click on the conflicting COM port/device and select disable. Re-run the updater and everything installed no issues. Back to the device manager to activate the previously conflicting COM port/device and that’s it.
Might be obvious to some but wasn’t to me so this might help someone.
