V3 pedals maintenance question

I've had my V3s along time. I've removed the clutch and moved the brake to the clutch position.
Lately I've noticed that iRacing (that is all I race) would loose accelerator position. In game I would have the accelerator depressed but the engine would start sputtering. I would release and depress, change gears etc and the engine would just sputter (observed with P217 & F3.5) then after between 3 to 5 seconds the engine would respond.
I had the traction control mapped to the wheel but I removed those mappings.
So my question is, is it time for some part replacements for maintenance purpose. Nothing last forever.
I observed in the Fanatec Wheel Properties Function Test page that the accelerator would have random jumps as the pedal was depressed smoothly. The jumps do not occur at the same place nor do they seem to saturate just a step.
This started happening in the last month.

Happen three times in a 45 minute race at Suzuka. Need to get this corrected.
Sounds like either sensor needs some cleaning or it needs to be replaced.
