That's correct. The CSL Pedals Clutch Kit will be the cheapest way to create a three-pedal set. The CSL Pedals Load Cell Kit replaces the brake, and therefore also gives you a third pedal, because the standard brake can be converted to a clutch. In other words, if you buy the Load Cell Kit, you don't need to buy the Clutch Kit.
The last 2 months of Fanatec business practice and marketing are concerning to me. Fanatec has been acting like they have amazing products, releasing partial information, teasing customers, making silly reaction videos, and selling almost nothing. You can buy podium bases, pedals, and a few wheels, but most products are out of stock. How is the company staying financially solvent? Will Fanatec still be in business by the time anything in the low-mid range is available for purchase? It could be as far away as 4 months before any volume items are for sale, and increasingly feels like vapor ware.
They're creating hype which is what is happening. And also, the products that are out of stock are mostly discontinued items. If you noticed that the wheels that are no longer being sold are the ones without a removable hub which you can't swap out for a QR2. I'm looking forward to the CSL DD and hopefully, a more reliable shifter is in the works.
Your way wide of the mark here. Look at their stock price - it's growth is through the roof. The pandemic has been good to them - they have no stock as their sales have been significantly higher than they projected and the supply chain couldn't keep up. You don't need to be concerned - they are doing fine. :-)
Perhaps wide of the mark on financial health at the moment, but certainly on the mark regarding the fact that these products have absolutely no availability or date of availability, they simply do not exist in the real world. I have decided to spend my money with sim racing companies that are actually producing products and not playing silly games.
I thought that I was alone or among the very little few who felt like this. But yeah. Waiting for months for any kind of concrete news, date, something. I really wanted to buy a CSl elite setup but after all this time I feel a little played. It still, to this day, says on the eu site that the csl elite will be back in stock soon. Maybe the old will be back soon, maybe it won't. Maybe it will be possible the order the new DD in few months, maybe later. Maybe the new DD with the PS4/5 compatibillity will also be available in few months, maybe not.
I mean, I understand some of the games that Fanatec plays, from a certain point of view. All of this was actually a prelude for a new gen of wheels. But as a potential new customer/ user, I just don't give a damn. I didn't have any sim setup, and wanted to buy one and Fanatec was on top of my list. But I am not prepared to wait half a year or more for something that may or may not come, so a few days ago I spent my money on other brand and it should come tomorrow.
Maybe I am among the very few, maybe not, but It is what it is. With a few decent infos I could have also been a Fanatec customer.
Going to wait on clubsport version, believe that clubsport DD and update pedals, shifter & handbrake is on way. Decide to wait for those as better to have latest than rush to have something that’s designed over 3 years old. CSL DD got me on toe tho, am still hoping that Clubsport DD will come out shortly afterward as like my base to be around 10-15Nm, let’s see.
one biggest question I got is that does CSL DD take up same size as DD1/2 for side mount as like to order the rig
I still want to see them reviewed first. I can wait until after the load cell kit is available, and if they are way better than the CSL pedals I now have, I'll consider it.
There is still something telling me not to jump for these pedals, but to wait for a future set from Fanatec before I make a purchase.
I don't know if it's appropriate to say because we ARE on a Fanatec forum, but there are two more and I bought the one with the belt drive and LC brakes. So far I'm satisfied.
Is Fanatec going to announce the F1 2021 limited edition wheel anytime soon? On their IG story one of the red Bull esports drivers featured a version of the clubsport formula v2 that I haven’t seen before.
I'm psyched for the new gear announcements/releases for sure. Honestly, am waiting for a Clubsport V3 pedal replacement before considering the new CSL. The DD wheelbase (in 8nm kit) is definitely on my list.
As far as the product stack, launch, availability, discontinuation debate. I'm sure Fanatec knows better than we do their financial situation and what they want for their products. It makes sense to "clean house" for a wave of new generation products, instead of complicating things by having three dozen different items. What if it costs them the same to keep making the CSL Elite V1.1, and they can't sell it for less, but they can still sell the DD for $350? Nobody would buy a CSL Elite and it makes no sense to keep it taking up space/time/resources. Same with the pedals - these are cheaper than the outgoing model -and- have all the features an "entry-level" pedal needs today. And above all what if they have the money to wait out the time for reorganizing their products like this, which also keeps them in their market position?
I mean frankly, at this point Logitech needs to leave the racing gear business completely or come up with something that is actually new. Thrustmaster has good options but outside of their T-LCM pedals, TH8A shifter, and the handbrake, now nothing else of theirs makes sense for the price with the CSL DD coming, unless you absolutely have to need to have a leather Ferrari branded wheel in your hands.
I think Fanatec knows what they're doing, I think they have the price segment they cover absolutely destroying their competition, and I also think they have nothing to worry about with regards to the primary market segment most people fall into. I try not to fanboy and hope it doesn't come across that way, if another company came along and offered a higher level of gear for a similar price we'd all own that instead of Fanatec. Fanatec stuff definitely isn't perfect I have my share of issues and gripes with the Formula wheel, CSL V1.1, and Elite LC pedal, but I'm also not paying real life racing prices for the infallible real-life quality simracing parts.
The new CSL Pedals were released half a year ago or so. Just the Load Cell Kit was not released yet.
The old CSL Elite Pedals are on the market for several years and they are being discontinued now with the new set, therefore also no Load Cell Kit anymore for this old set.

Does hype pay salaries?

If you don’t mind me asking, what brand did you go with for your set up?

Pretty sure Dom mentioned the CSL DD is slightly smaller - given it's got t-slots on the side, there might be new mounting options available too.
I'd suggest mounting from below using the "standard" 3 point mounts, it would be definitely be strong enough.
Thank you for registering to the forum, just to tell us that you have decided to go with other brand. 🤣
Buddy, did you know you must register to make a purchase and that that registration signs you up for the forum?
I don't know if it's appropriate to say because we ARE on a Fanatec forum, but there are two more and I bought the one with the belt drive and LC brakes. So far I'm satisfied.
You can register without purchase. 😉
I can only respond to your original post 😜
One thing...
I want to hear the full song that you used in this video. Where should I look to find it?
Is Fanatec going to announce the F1 2021 limited edition wheel anytime soon? On their IG story one of the red Bull esports drivers featured a version of the clubsport formula v2 that I haven’t seen before.
You have a picture? What I saw were all known Formula v2 F1 variants, nothing new?!
the only other variant this can be is the 2019 version correct?
That is just the Blue Playstation version that is included in the Podium Racing Wheel F1 for Playstation.
I see, it must be the poor lighting making those grips look black instead of blue

just some food for thought.
+1 Tasted good to me…..well said.
And there you go

Hi,
i am very confused by the support. When i asked for the loadcell, they just simply said "There is none."
Then i asked why they are mentioned on the productpage
https://fanatec.com/eu-de/pedale/csl-elite-pedale
The said: "Yes, this will be fixed by the IT department."
So what is the deal now? Is it safe to by the pedals and buy the new brake later, when it is released or will there be no loadcell upgrade available.
There will be a Loadcell for the new CSL Pedals but not anymore for the old CSL Elite Pedals you linked.
Oh, okay now i see. The pedals itself are also not released yet.
I thought these are the new ones already. My fault.
The new CSL Pedals were released half a year ago or so. Just the Load Cell Kit was not released yet.
The old CSL Elite Pedals are on the market for several years and they are being discontinued now with the new set, therefore also no Load Cell Kit anymore for this old set.
When will be avaible Load cell kit for new CSL Pedals?
this is the matter!
