BPK and calibration USB vs RJ12

Hi I am due to be getting a set of the BPK delivered shortly from Fanatec. Can I please ask do I have to calibrate them through usb first and then switch them back to the RJ12 connection as that’s how I am running them through my CSW2.5 wheel base or can the calibration be done through the RJ12 port. Are there any pros or cons to either.
