Elite throttle problem

Hopefully i can make myself understood with my limited English skills 😊
My throttle started spiking at off throttle, found an old YouTube video with my exact problem here :
As i have the old brake/clutch pedal just lying here gathering dust, could i just use the potentiometer from that or wouldn't that work?

so, i've just had this problem. just a few mm of travel was spiking up to 50%, but spazzing all over the place real bad. i decided to spray the pot with compressed air whilst pumping the pedal, then repeated the same thing with isopropyl spray - both using the straw-like applicator, and now the pedals are perfect. not even a single micro-spike. no need to remove or disassemble pedals either
