Anyone ever had a wheel fail like this?

This is the main axle that runs through the middle of the Porsche GT2 wheel and it's just sheared itself in half. It's a tricky one to fix because I need to leave room up the center for the cables and plug that have to run through it.
I'm not really happy about it to be honest because I bought this wheel myself direct from Fanatec so I know it has been treated very well and not yanked on hard and this failure has rendered the wheel completely useless.
FYI, these wheels are quite tricky to dissasemble:
