Good news regarding the issue where high torque is not working with some Formula (V1), Formula Esports, BMW GT2 and 918 RSR wheels. We've got a wheel where the issue could get reproduced and are working on a fix which we should be able to share soon. Thanks to everyone which were trying to help us.
Thank you for the feedback, nice to see several people saying that it improved significantly. We are also still working on further improvements and of course fixing the known issues some are plagued by.
Maurice, Not doubting your response at all. But could you explain if there is any deliberate logic behind that. I ask because I have always had BLI set to other than off and the rumble tests have always worked in previous drivers.
The old UI did switch BLI for a second until the test was over, this needs to be done for the new UI as well. But we'll also have a look if we can make it so BLI can work in parallel to the other vibration commands and not either one or the other.
Does this also mean in a more extreme case that you can have one setup at 0% FFB, you would then inrease it to 50% but there would be still absolutely no FFB and only if you change to another setup and back you get FFB?
This would be a bit easier and clearer for us to analyse and reproduce than just the change between 35 and 50.
i think i have the same problem....yesterday i was driving project cars 3 at the PS5....i adjusted the ffb over the Tuning menue from 70% to 30% to 100%....but maximum FFB when driving was at all 3 cases about 6,x Nm.....then i rebooted the game and the Wheel Base and had 19,X Nm at 100%....pulled it again down to 30% FFB and there was no change.....still had 19,X Nm at 30% FFB!
i was thinking this might be a problem of the game...but i will test this later by GT Sports and F1 2021 as well.....
Just updated back to driver version 423 from 402, and flashed the hotfixed wheelbase firmware. Everything seems to be working well, the wheelbase is now in high torque mode with my 918 RSR wheel as it should be. Thank you for the quick fix !
that's how it is ! is exactly what I mean. I have tried a multitude of games and it does the same in all of them. the problem comes after the update. then I'm going to try to decrease it to 0 and then go back to 50, I'll record a video so you can see the difference more clearly when changing the profile (set) on the steering wheel
no need to restart the base. just change the profile (ex: from s-1 to s-2 and then back to s1) and then the change of FFB will take effect. it's a bit annoying for me, because in f1 or dirt rally 2.0 ... sometimes I like to go up and down the FFB according to the conditions of the track or section. and it happens to me in all games so it must be a problem with the update.
Hi Marcel, crazy week so only seen this now. I just saw the hotfix too, which I guess is for this?
It has only happened to me twice, because I usually push a button for high torque immediately after turning on the wheel base.
To replicate the issue, turn on the wheel base and do not react to the prompt for activating high torque, the exact time required to get stuck is unknown however 90 seconds should be enough.
To avoid the issue, I believe turning on the wheel base and immediately pressing a button, or turning the rim to active high torque.
To add, I am using a Formula V2.5 on a DD2 wheel base, running Driver 423, firmware 687.
*Update - just installed 687 hotfix, and seems to be working fine now. I will update if it happens again.
Comments
Tried downgrading till driver 381RC , all the same, then on a laptop just in case, again nothing, wheel doesnt want to upgrade fw but
working still fine on its last fw38.
Thanks!! ;)
No high torque issue update

Can you send a screenshot as well of the message you are getting.
Did the update work some time before or is this maybe the first time you are trying to update the wheel?
Podium Direct Drive Hotfix Firmware 687
Let me know if the issue is now fixed for you.
CSW 2.5 and V3
Just installed 423
First thing I notice is in the pedals page. I have switched on manual mode and re-set my min and max.
My brake pedal appears to rumble when fully depressed...... But neither of the rumble test buttons , in the pedal settings, will work.
That's because you have set BLI to a value which is not OFF.
Sorry, my bad ..I always use the default settings somehow the BLI was set to off, so I never noticed it 🙄
Works for me! Thanks a lot guys! My DD1 really feels good now
Maurice, Not doubting your response at all. But could you explain if there is any deliberate logic behind that. I ask because I have always had BLI set to other than off and the rumble tests have always worked in previous drivers.
Because it's an issue of the new UI where Rumble buttons are not working when you use BLI.
Will be looked at to hopefully fix it.
The old UI did switch BLI for a second until the test was over, this needs to be done for the new UI as well. But we'll also have a look if we can make it so BLI can work in parallel to the other vibration commands and not either one or the other.
u
Volant BMW GT2 V2 DD1 687 již funguje správně s vysokým točivým momentem. Děkuji za opravu.
???? are you ok
Can this hotfix also be used for the CSL DD base?
No. Thats a firmware for Podium DDs. CSL DDs do not have High or Low Torque modes so no issue on that one which would need a hotfix...
Thanks for the feedback but next time in English please.

Thanks very much Marcel! Flashed the Hotfix Firmware and it has fixed the issue with my BMW GT2 Wheel. I can now enjoy Dirt Rally 2.0 again!

Thanks for the feedback, good to know the low torque issue is solved, I've now added the file to the first post as well so its easier to find.
Thanks, we'll take a closer look.
Many thanks. Happy to know its a bug and not me failing to understand the logic.
It's not a practical problem, as the rumble motors appear to function correctly in-game.

Sadly not working for me.
