Hi i have the same problem.
Which driver version do you have?
I currently have the last official version 415.
I'm reinstalling the game, if the error persists, I'll install the beta driver.

Yes, only in 2.5 Comp Mode
and still does not go? many have solved it like this 🤔
The fact that it freezes with no error leads me to believe it is a Forza bug.
Hopefully there will be a day 1 patch on Monday......

FH5 is not playable on PC, console is fine but that means gamepad for me 😭
Same issue here with CSL DD. Using 2.5 compatibility mode because the wheel isn't recognized otherwise, but the game crashes every 5-10 minutes, usually during cutscenes but sometimes during gameplay too. Screen freezes but audio keeps going. With gamepad the game seems to work just fine. Already tried running as administrator, removed Afterburner, turned Windows security off (I don't have any 3rd party antivirus software installed) etc. Only thing that stops the crashes is unplugging the wheel.
The wheel works in every other racing game I've tried, no issues there.
Are you guys that are having stability and other issues with FH5 running the Steam version or Windows Store version of the game? Just curious.
I have the Steam version.
I played a few regular single races with the wheel and it seemed fine, but when I played a race in a championship series or the special "adventure" missions it crashes as soon as you finish the race.

Was able to play a few hours non-stop without any crash.

Same problem for me and same as in FH4. It was never fixed in 4 and I dont have high hopes for 5. It works with my logitech wheel and controller, but not with fanatec. I will try to return the game and wait till I know they fixed it. How can you advertise a game as supporting fanatec and apparently never test it.

I tried horizon 5 on both pc and xbox I have the tuning menu at 900 degrees but the steering wheel is never synchronized I steer a little but the game steers pussy plus any advice please?

just get past the opening sequences and enter the main game by using an xbox controller if you have one (my method) or, I suppose, via the keyboard as a controller.
The csl dd in compatibility mode then runs without a hitch
clarification - you use the controller or keyboard to drive during the opening sequences with the csl turned off until you get to the point that you drive a challenge.
Then exit and restart the game with the csl in compatibility mode
On reddit some user's recommended downgrading to driver 346 and it worked all evening for me without any lag or crashes, what I'm wondering is what's the latest driver that is stable with Forza Horizon 5? I have a DD1 and driver 346 with its firmware doesn't feel as good as the latest driver.
A patch is available now, it was mentioned on the in-game messages board that wheel issues have been addressed. Let's hope it will work for us now.
Crashed twice with Patch within an hour.
But don't need my DD2 in the comp. 2.5 Mod set. Works in PC mode fine.
