Yes, there is lack of details compared to blue mode before this update but for me its better that stay in blue and raise FOR on 120 and ingame on 10
FFS, what are they doing to this game 🤦🏻♂️ first they ruin the physics and now they ruin FF
No metter which settings are we using, I prefer recommended from page 1, few guys here have their settings, but this can't be right, to put FOR and In-game FF to MAX and say, yeah, this is good now, you don't need more FF than this?! 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
With proper settings the FFB feels better than ever before now! Imo they completely fixed all the FFB issues they had like oscillations and dead FFB in High speed corners.
I totally agree with you... it is an overall improvement when it comes to details especially in high-speed corners, which is good.
The problem I have is the extremely high dynamic range. The higher forces seem to be fine while the very low forces are too feeble in my opinion.
So I tried to compensate that by increasing the ingame Sensitivity to 2-4 (have to test different cars and wheels) and increasing the natural friction. Yes, I will lose details, but the overall feeling at lower forces seems to be more natural and do not feel "toyish".
Let's see what the time brings. As the German says... "der Mensch ist ein Gewöhnungstier". The very good thing is, if we don't like the new ffb, we can change to the old one by setting the wheelbase to comp mode.
Danke übrigens noch Maurice für die schnelle Reaktionszeit, was die Settings anbelangt : )
DD Pro settings (V2 hub and 320mm fana rim / V2 hub and 305mm turn racing rim / no other wheels tested yet):
SEN: AUTO
FFB: 100
FFS: PEAK
NDP: 50
NFR: 30-35 (increase NFR feels more natural at lower forces (maybe I will set it higher later) - it also depends on car and wheel)
NIN: OFF
INT: 6 (compensate the "digital", grainy feelings and smoothen out the overall FFB)
FEI: 60 (feels more natural to me -> tires are not wooden)
FOR: 120 (strange, but the only solution to get a solid strength (i was using FFB 90, FOR and INGAME 5 before). Maybe I will lower it to 110 later)
SPR: -
DPR: -
GT7 in Game Settings:
Force Feedback Max Torque: 10
Force Feedback Sensitivity: 3 (2-4, depends on car and wheel)
It's not FF, it's resistance. Wheel is too light now, too loose, too soft, there is no resistance while turning....
And there is no way that this is OK, to put FOR and ingame FF to highest number and call it better than before. Sorry Mou, but what we feel now is weaker than we have before on ingame 2. I think many people want to feel some resistence while driving 🤷🏻♂️
Set FOR to 120 with Max Torque 10, then you have resistance more or less back to what was previously Max Torque 5 with FOR 100.
Did they reduced the FFB a bit too much? Yes. Sure. FOR 120 shouldnt be needed. But overall the FFB is massively improved and feels better than ever. They now only have to increase the strength again a tiny bit more so FOR 100 can be used with proper resistance again and then everything is just perfect. I really hope rhey dont completely revert the changes as the FFB really feels so much better now, especially in High speed corners.
That’s exactly what I’m feeling! I want to feel the weight of the car when I’m turning into a corner! It feels numb now! There’s no way that the FFB is better than before! Something is definitely wrong!
It felt numb before in a high speed corner where you felt exactly nothing other than a heavy spring force but no curbs, no Road bumps, no nothing. Now you feel every little detail in those high speed corners.
The resistance is a bit too light, yes, but overall FFB is drastically improved. You just need to adjust the settings, especially in game Max Torque 10 and FOR on the wheel 120.
With 8Nm resistance is fine for me. Could be a bit stronger so FOR 100 can be used again, but I like is with FOR 120 and it feels more or less the same as before.
Maybe you just need to get used to this new Feeling which in general is definitely miles better than ever before.
What in the world has PD done to this game…. Ugh. I’m not one to complain much. But the new update has destroyed the feeling of the DD Pro for me. Yes, the force feedback has been slightly improved as far as feeling details goes, but the resistance of the wheel for me is absolutely horrible. Even if I set the in game torque to 10 and set FOR to 120 on the wheel, it still feels much weaker than it did previously. Feels like a wet noodle. I’m so bummed right now.
I’ll mention that I’m also using the 8mn boost kit.. I can’t even imagine how bad this is for those without that. :(
It feels as bad as it previously did where you feel NOTHING other than a heavy constant spring force in High speed corners without any FFB detail at all, yes.
Ya… after testing for a bit and going back and forth I do agree…. The new update does provide much better feedback in corners now. But even with Torque at 10 and FOR at 120, the resistance is still a bit weak.. I guess I’ll just need to adapt to that going forward.
I agree with Maurice. The FFB is much, much better now.
I use Fanatec standard settings but NDP Off and INT 1. 8 Nm. 10/10 in-game.
There's much more detail, and most importantly that dead spring effect at slip limit and beyond is gone.
However, some people experience a total lack of FFB. Must be a bug, since our experiences can't differ that much. Let's hope it's fixed soon so everyone can enjoy this update.
Is there a way to edit page 1? For new people getting the DD Pro, they may not scroll down to the 9th page to see the new recommended settings you provide and may only go off of what they see on page 1. Also, what did you mean by being adapted next week? I’m confused there lol.
Thanks for all the helpful tips on settings guys, especially, Maurice! I was wondering if anyone's on the CSL Elite WB and what are their experiences so far after the update? I was running the recommended settings from page 1 for that WB and it was fine, prior to the update.
That's fine if you were using Max Torque 5. But if you were already on Max Torque 9 or 10 then presumably you've lost a lot of torque and have no way to tune it back in?
If you truly want much higher resistance, you can use the purple mode on the wheel and you’ll get the same feeling you had before… minus the new force feedback details (which is most important in a race sim anyway imo)
When you previously used Max Torque 9 or 10 then you did something wrong in the beginning as everything above Max Torque 6 resulted in Clipping previously so 9 or 10 were rhe worst settings you could have used previously.
I have been flipping back and forth from your settings and my own attempt. With yours I feel like the slow corners are dead feeling. No feedback and smooth. What setting changes that to a heavier feeling?

Compatibility mode is purple mode on GT DD Pro?
Yes, there is lack of details compared to blue mode before this update but for me its better that stay in blue and raise FOR on 120 and ingame on 10

Tbh, they didnt ruin the FFB with this update.

OK, maybe wrong choice of words on my side.

Even with FOR 120 and Max Torque it feels wrong for me! The way it is now I can almost steer the car with one hand! It’s so weak.
Sorry Mou, you are really nice guy, but this is not correct. Now with FOR 120 and MT 10 is way less than FOR 100 and MT 5
I try recommended settings with FOR 120 and ingame 10, your new settings and few settings from here, but no, way to light for me 🤷🏻♂️
5Nm or 8Nm?
With 8Nm resistance is fine for me. Could be a bit stronger so FOR 100 can be used again, but I like is with FOR 120 and it feels more or less the same as before.

8Nm....
I am trying to get used to this new settings but its way too light, way too soft IMO and that makes me slower 🤷🏻♂️
Switch base to purple mode with old settings and tell me how is that? Is it close to before update?
Just tried this now. Yes, that did work. It feels like it previous did. Although we shouldn’t have to do that… it did fix the issue. Thank you.
Thank you very much for the settings Maurice, I will try them this afternoon.
One question, have you been able to test the new "rewritten" drivers with the new update (the ones that will be released soon)???
It feels as bad as it previously did where you feel NOTHING other than a heavy constant spring force in High speed corners without any FFB detail at all, yes.

Are you on recommended settings from page one or Mourices?
The recommended settings from page 1 are no longer valid and can be completely ignored after this update.
Most likely they will be adapted next week or so to the new update.
I agree with Maurice. The FFB is much, much better now.
I use Fanatec standard settings but NDP Off and INT 1. 8 Nm. 10/10 in-game.

Only Dom can update the original post for obvious reasons.
It's holiday in Germany so no update until at least next week I think.
Oh ok that makes more sense. Thanks!
Thanks for all the helpful tips on settings guys, especially, Maurice! I was wondering if anyone's on the CSL Elite WB and what are their experiences so far after the update? I was running the recommended settings from page 1 for that WB and it was fine, prior to the update.

Maurice,
I have been flipping back and forth from your settings and my own attempt. With yours I feel like the slow corners are dead feeling. No feedback and smooth. What setting changes that to a heavier feeling?
Do you know what I’m asking?
Maurice,
I found your helpful hints on Reddit too. However, your settings on here and there are slightly different. Which one did you finally settle on?
