Uninstall Fanatec Drivers via windows add & remove programs option
Reboot
Find and delete any remaining Fanatec files and folders
Connect base and turn it on (Set to PC mode)
Install new Fanatec PC driver (Make sure nothing running in the background of PC)
Reboot (Some have noted that this may not be required)
Connect base and turn it on
Run Fanatec Control Panel and update firmware (Make sure nothing running in the background of PC and not the time to watch any Youtube videos) Just walk away and come back later...
Reboot (after installation you will be prompted to reboot)
Run through all applicable calibrations (Wheel Center, Shifter, etcetera.)
The "Find and delete any remaining Fanatec files and folders" is not needed, just uninstall it via add / remove programs under Windows settings, when it's uninstalled do a reboot, install new drivers and reboot (it's required) again, afterwards turn on the wheelbase and go through the guided firmware procedure.

Just follow the manual instructions on how to update firmware.
There are a couple of threads on when to restart pc etc, but pls do not run anything in the background when doing update... like watching youtube.

You. An also do it from the device manager on the pc.
