APM magnet sticker

Hi, just noticed there is some kind of transparent film on the gold magnets of the APM. Do they have a function, or are they just for protection and i can peel them off??

    I would just leave them on, there is always a reason why such protection films are installed somewhere.......

    It’s protection against corrosion and keeps the gold coating on the magnets, so best to leave them on.

    The gold coating is not very though. The silver magnets you normally see don’t need the sticker.
