GT DD Pro Wheel - High Torque on DD2 mode?

My friend just picked up a GT DD base and we wanted to see how the wheel felt with the higher torque of my DD2. After fitting a QR1, the wheel is still only in low torque mode and does not seem able to go into a higher torque mode setting. After some research and teardown, the wheel does not seem to have the same mechanism to tell if a QR1 is installed or not like other wheels to allow them to use higher torque inside. Is there a way to enable high torque or an addon I can plug into the wheel to enable it as there is an unused connector on the PCB?

As written in the webshop description: The GT DD Pro Steering Wheel only supports Low Torque mode on Podium Bases even with a metal QR1 attached.
It is impossible to force the High Torque Mode with this wheel attached.
