How to attach a quickrelease (red) of a ClubSport Formula Carbon to a McLaren GT3 V2

Hello everyone

I got a red quick release from an older CLubsport Formula Carbon wheel and wanted to attach it to my McLaren GT3 V2 wheel.

I know its not possible out of the stock. But when I attach an adapter plate to the red QR and use a lathe to get the inner part wide enough to fit the cable mount socket of the McLaren wheel. Will the height of the 2 quick releases without the bottom plate the same?

Anyone did this before?
