QR1 Wheel Side Adapter

I have a QR1 Wheel Side adapter that was mounted to my F1 2019 Formula wheel. I have been using it for many months without disconnected it from the base. I noticed a slight flex that I had in the past corrected with tightening a few bolts. When I tried to disconnect the wheel the adapter would not release. I have removed the wheel from the adapter so that I can look at the adapter to base. The adapter moves about 1/2 inch and just stops.
Help, what can I do to remove the adapter from the base?

Put the wheel back on so you get leverage then brute force!
Tried that. Will not release. completely.
Stupid question, did you loosen the rubber ring? I am thinking the rubber either bonded with the aluminum in the QR or it's still cinched tight.
You've probably seperated the QR from the wheelbase by now. If so, are you back up and running?
