Cannot install any driver: A program run as part of this setup did not finish as expected.

I got the following error while installing new drivers, and now I can't reinstall even previously working drivers for they get the same error. I was updating 450 to 451, and same happens with 447 or 444. OS is Windows 10.

I've tried:

  • Making sure C:\Program Files\Fanatec is empty
  • Installing the driver to different drive
  • Removing hidden Fanatec driver from Device Manager
  • Rebooting each time I change something
  • Extracting the installer program archive
  • Unregistering and re-registering the Windows Installer service
  • Running .NET framework repair tool
  • Installing latest Windows feature update
  • Deleting Fanatec folder in Appdata
  • Disabling antivirus
